Yeah, at this point he is one of the few bearable mutants but not for much longer. I don't know when X-Men became allegories for queers but since then its been nothing but revolting trash. This is the only time I am hoping the MCU synergy comes in and fucks this whole editorial up.

I haven't kept up with the X-books in a hot minute, but wasn't Azazel supposed to be Kurt's dad? Whatever happened to that?

I thought what he wanted was for Mystique to have impregnated someone while disguised as a man and that led to Nightcrawler, then the second idea was the Azazel and Mystique origin. But I could be misremembering.
 
I don't read modern Marvel but apparently Azazel being Nightcrawler's father got retconned with a convoluted plot wherein Mystique tricked Azazel into thinking Nightcrawler was his kid, restoring Claremont's original plan for Mystique and Destiny to be Nightcrawler's parents.

The new retcon accounts for that, Mystique's powers now allow her to geneshift so when she impregnated Destiny, she did it with a homegrown cocktail of hers and Azazel's DNA.
She did have to fuck Azazel to pull it off tho, so you might as well say she kept his cum in her shapeshifted balls and shot it into Destiny.

I really resent the constant incessant need to make Barbara black, they started it in Lego Batman, The Batman, Caped Crusader and now they are doing this in this world. So sick and tired of race swaps and this is just the first issue.
