It’s time like this I have it remind myself, why did they make Ice Man gay so a bunch of wackjob writers can taint my eyes in every issue like it wasn’t explicit enough?

Also, there’s funny thing I noticed when people brought up Jean Gray and Bobby and the whole back and forth on Twitter/X of wither or not Bobby was mind manipulated. Jean Gray would be considered homophobic cause it is offensive and shameful to out a gay person before they came out, at least from what I’ve heard. So in short, a lot of these stories that promote “representation and inclusion” end up making offensive stereotypes and caricatures of whatever mouthpiece they write.

Iron Fist lore has been stretched to the point the only place left to go is rainbow iron Fist corps shit and the only Shang Chi lore anyone legit cares about is the Fu Manchu stuff which is off the table due to a myriad of reasons

Iron Fist lore has been stretched, yes, but it could also just see the cycle of things continue. In a non-clown world, we'd see his successor "daughter" grow up while we see the rest of the immortal weapons on occassion.

Shang-Chi lore saw the Fu Manchu stuff get swapped with Mandarin at this point. Could probably work something in it.

I still don't see what the important thing about Woman of Tomarrow is to make it a movie. And not an animated one because the art is the only thing it had going for it.

Kite-Man is the only character that King ever 'improved' and all that he gave him was a dead kid and a catchphrase.

Mark my words, King is going to Troon out within the next 10 years

Well he’s a Captain America-type without the popularity of Steve Rogers and the simpering communist dogs at DC hate that type of character.

Despite the fact that Nathaniel Adam’s treatment by the US is not a flattering portrayal and his comic was a massive Captain America deconstruction. They don’t know that though, like Tom King those faggots don’t read comics.

Tall, straight white guy who served in Vietnam, has absolute power and is honestly kinda sad and lonely, nope! Have him blow up.

Is he dead. Speaking of the JLI gang. Just picked up the last omnibus.

Man, it really is kindof the end. Glad they didn't try to squeeze any Didio shit in. You can read this stuff and it exists in its own continuity almost. One bad thing is Ice dying off screen in the dark times between Jurgen fucking off and Morrison coming in.

When a Justice League cartoon does the best rendition of a character you have a problem. Serves as an object lesson.

Better question is, what DC character HASN'T gotten ASSRAPED in the last twenty years?

Superman; fag shit and Bendis'd
Batman; lots of fag shit and Tom king'd (Catmommy save me!)
Aquaman: Kelly Sue took his balls and made his son a girl I think?
Flash; It's REALLY an accomplishment when you ruin three characters at the same time, Geoff Johns.
Wondy; Went from being a generic murder bitch due to Cucka; to Gail shit; to having the hope of a JMS series only to have that dream stolen and to wind up in the hands of Tom King. She got Azz/Chiang, I think that's it.

Ice dying feels like it intentionally being an EXTREME!!!! 90S!!!! moment.

It probably could have been written and executed a lot better tbh. I could see it as a sort of "end of innocence" vibe for the JLI.

Ice was literally killed off because Vado was pissy that fans loved her and not his personal waifu Maxima and through his indie ties, managed to keep her dead for a decade, until Gail Simone burnt her own build up favors being allowed to bring her back to life.

Also, fuck the new JLI omnibus. Not only did it not include Armageddon 2001 (resulting in major plot holes and unresolved cliffhanger syndrome) but also for cramming them in the 2000s era JLI stuff instead of waiting until the very last JLI omnibus, since the whole omnibus run was promoted as the definitive collection for the entire JLI run, not just the Giffen shit. Especially since we'll now never fucking get the Christopher Priest JLTF run at this point collected.

Considering how much of that material was written by Gerard Jones, they're probably not going to reprint it. They couldn't leave his issues out of these JLI omnibuses, but they've been skittish about reprinting anything else he did.

What's the story there? Is it like Devin Grayson where they refuse to print anything she touched because she dumped Mark Waid and he got her blacklisted because of it? At least that's the story I heard. Gail Simone mentioned trying to get her back to DC and every editor refusing it without giving a reason. Though she might be lying.

It's worse than that, unfortunately. Gerard Jones was convicted of possessing child pornography, and since then Marvel and DC have mostly avoided reprinting his work. It's why the Marvel Wonder Man omnibus didn't include his run, the upcoming Amalgam omnibus doesn't include his one shots, why the Hal Jordan Green Lantern trade paperback got shut down. However, with JLI they can't really avoid the issues he wrote without taking big chunks out of the storyline and rendering it incomprehensible. I'm surprised there's not more outcry about his work being reprinted, but I guess most people just want to see the other creators get some money.
