Honestly, I can see it make far more sense than Fosthor. Elektra's been a consistent presence and it seems she's always been someone who could maybe be closer to the side of the Angels. They have been pushing it for a long while now. She is pretty much the new Whor.
Jane Foster, while a relevant cast member, was kinda neglected in the Thor comics for decades. Sure, she came back in the 00s and all that, but I found her use to be a bit hackneyed. But, I'll give it credit for not being as mindfuckingly stupid as it could have been. It just seems to have been a way to get a female version and tell a bit of a contrived story. However, I'm only mad because it lasted too long. The story went on for too long and it was obvious that Jane Foster was this female Thor. Hell, I get it. They had to time the story to have Thor be "Unworthy" while in the leadup to Secret Wars as a part of all that thematic shit they were doing to put the major icons in a downward spiral. Steve went old, Tony went evil, Bruce became a sociopathic merged hulk, Spidey was Doc Ock, Wolverine died, the F4 were in trouble, the X-Men were kinda screwed up too.
Jane Foster's kind of a bland nothingburger with a nice bland tale. I'm critical of the execution of this idea and how Marvel & Redditor-types kept pushing it. We all knew it was going to be hokey and Aaron's an average writer at best.
I really wanna see Matt and Kurt Wagner have a good old catholic guilt talk. Kurt being the optimistic fucker that he is, despite suffering just as badly or worse, would be a fun contrast.Matt himself got a new comic just because of the new show. After sleeping with that many women him becoming a priest is hilarious though. The writer is muslim on top of all that.
