Maybe? I don't get most of the decisions they've made with Barbara since New 52. Her going back to being Batgirl felt like Dick going back to being Robin and, to make it worse, there has never been a real direction or greater purpose to it. She's just Batgirl again. I never understood why they didn't give her a new superhero identity if they were going to insist on putting her back in action. I knew they weren't going to ever make her Batwoman, but why not Flamebird? It's not like they've ever had any ideas for Bette and there was that period where no one used her because they were still trying to figure out Kathy. Hell, she isn't even being used now! They dropped better, more interesting characters from existence when they relaunched so just drop Bette and have Barbara be Flamebird. It's not like they are trying to keep her out of Dick's orbit.Honestly wonder if the Animated series is to blame for that? Barb hadn't been Batgirl since the 80s yet there was a big push to get her out of the chair and back in costume in the last two decades that finally happened in New 52,
Did you expect anything else from the generation that cut their writing chops writing fanfiction on DeviantArt and FF net?It really is sad that people don't go to DC or Marvel because they want to write about these fantastical characters they grew up reading with long, enduring legacies and legendary stories to their name, but instead just want to use these characters to write stories about their own mundane lives and shitty attitudes through fantastical characters as some sort of proxy to get someone to pay attention to them.
Concept:Right. It's a Dark Multiverse short so, for all we know, it's a universe where Parallax was still in the Central Battery and corrupted the whole Corps through Hal. As Owlman said, it's literally four pages long but it's the best of that bunch by a mile. Kind of made me wish that was given a full issue or mini-series over most of what we've gotten out of DC's edgelord line.
EDIT: I was chatting with a friend of mine about the Dark Multiverse/Death Metal the other day and I think I finally hit why none of it is landing with me (besides my feelings on Snyder as a writer/creator). This whole thing sure would have more of an impact if the main DC universe hasn't felt like a dark reflection of itself for years, at least since Identity Crisis but likely since the 90s. I'm struggling to think of a solid, prolonged period of optimism that it's had in the last decade. Maybe Rebirth but man did that get shoved aside as soon as Didio could.
yes but a yellow arrow at THAT range would probably deal some damage. Given that Hal has left his chest wide open, it’s more than likely that the arrow would pierce the force field and into Hal’s chest.Perhaps, it just seems odd to me that a yellow arrow would mean anything. Not that Yellow wouldn't work against a rookie Lantern. This is something an editor should catch.
Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Multiverse Who LaughsWhere is that from?
Well the current Batwoman was originally planned to be a dark and edgy Babs but DC chickened out because they didn't want to upset the disabled readers that liked her as Oracle.Maybe? You're right, this is the same cunt that wrote the Harley YA novel.pretty sure this is the same cunt that wrote the Harley YA novel that had her living with a fat gay man named "momma" and had the detail that Harley's grandmother used to collect a shit ton of Clown figures.
so, you don't need to tell me how bad this is gonna be.
Meh if this shit keeps AT&T from taking DC behind a shed I'm okay with them existing. You're right, this is the same cunt that wrote the Harley YA novel.
99.9% of all YA shit is basically fan-fic tier with no description and bare-bones dialogue. Here, let me right a section of ready player one.Did you expect anything else from the generation that cut their writing chops writing fanfiction on DeviantArt and FF net?
When fanfiction isn't gender navel gazing or straight up porn it's people writing mundane boring shit with their favorite characters like going to Starbucks.
I mean let's not pretend normies or even fanboys don't like low effort McDonalds style entertainment.99.9% of all YA shit is basically fan-fic tier with no description and bare-bones dialogue. Here, let me right a section of ready player one.
"I put on my Occulus VR Goggles, an ex-Facebook subsidiary. I log into the virtual world through the Steam interface. I hop into my avatar like the Matrix, I am plugged in. I am a Sonicchu. I see Sonic, he doesn't have blue arms. I pick up the sword from Pyramid Head, form the game Silent Hill 2. Its like the sword in Berserk. I lift it up, and bring it down on Sonic. Again and again. Until he is bright blue mush, contrasting out on the grey dirt of the virtual world, like in Sin City. I grip my throbbing erection like something out of Transmetropolitian. Their screams are like a cacophony of joy. I am Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. The sword comes down heavily on another Sonic's arm, severing it, spraying the ground with bright gore, ala Kill Bill. They're all around me, like in the scene with Uma Thurman and the Ninjas. I slice them apart, but they still keep coming. Their arms are still blue. This is not an exit."
And even THAT is too much description for ready player one. It is, quite literally, filler words and references. That's it. And it is a best seller.
YA used to be very easily readable fiction that was light and had some adventure elements for kids. Some of it was pretty mature. The problem is adults who NEVER graduated from YA to anything else. So their fanfics were YA tier where they couldn't do anything but go to Starbucks. I mean, read the fucking description. She's the daughter of a super-hero but it seems actually fucking irrelevant to literally everything she's doing.
Why is she the daughter of a super hero? She could be the daughter of an actress, or a singer. The whole point is Starfire is interchangeable. The comic doesn't have anything to do with Starfire. Or even that fat turd of a character. Its all of the author's insecurities and her own wish fulfillment vomited out on the page. It is a fucking embarrassment to fiction and I would have just fucking burned this trash. It is an absolute fucking disgrace that an editor allowed a blatant fucking self insert onto the page.
Manga is so much better. By fucking miles. This will only drive people away. This will turn gay people straight, it is just that fucking terrible.
I'm not saying that, I'm just saying YA. A LOT of YA isn't really good. I mean take a look at the utter shit that comes out of it. The fanfic stuff or generic pulp fiction are excluded, as they're generally for an older audience (something like Altered Carbon is pulp). I enjoy writing pulp. Sex, violence, intrigue. YA is really, just awful. We don't have the Light Novel genre here to bridge that gap, but I'd say that's the 'superior' low effort reading entertainment. Because the YA genre is pretty much also only for women. Again, boys have retreated into...light novels and manga.I mean let's not pretend normies or even fanboys don't like low effort McDonalds style entertainment.
Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey are best sellers after all.

Yup voiced by Julie Bowen. Iirc she was in a shipwreck and Hippolyta took her in.I remember that from the cartoon because Hawkgirl called out Wonder Woman on her shit at one point.

I remember that episode being a bit confusing. Like, the defense of men presented is mostly "Hawkgirl really likes herself some dick."I remember that from the cartoon because Hawkgirl called out Wonder Woman on her shit at one point.
To be fair, the argument against men was “she’s never had dick.”I remember that episode being a bit confusing. Like, the defense of men presented is mostly "Hawkgirl really likes herself some dick."
It has been going downhill since 1986. I can buy arguments about how original Crisis was needed (thou I disagree) and all that, but DC fucked up the fallout and it has been slow decline since then. Only difference now, versus 1990s lets say, is that the rot has progressed to such an extent that it is impossible not to notice it anymore.EDIT: I was chatting with a friend of mine about the Dark Multiverse/Death Metal the other day and I think I finally hit why none of it is landing with me (besides my feelings on Snyder as a writer/creator). On the contrary. We need less fans in this business. All the retarded shippings, character ownerships, stupid continuity fixes (that end up causing more continuity issues), constant origin retelling and "my favourite character is best at everything" shit is direct consequence of fans getting into the business. It really is sad that people don't go to DC or Marvel because they want to write about these fantastical characters they grew up reading with long, enduring legacies and legendary stories to their name, but instead just want to use these characters to write stories about their own mundane lives and shitty attitudes through fantastical characters as some sort of proxy to get someone to pay attention to them.
