Nick Fury’s around. I’d imagine it’d be pretty easy for him to go “shits going down here in Europe, I brought in Spider-Man to help”. And it could also easily be brought up in the movie as a plot point as well.

Does the general public even know who Nick Fury is? (I'm a bit lax on mcu continuity, but last I heard he was "publically" dead... in quotes because his identity seemed to be top secret in the first place, and the only people who "knew" he was dead, or even existed in the first place, seemed to be the other heroes.)

How does that show that his identity was public knowledge? As of Cap 2, he was presumed dead. When did this change? (I've missed several mcu films, I am assuming that at least *has* changed... Because he's back) When did his identity become public knowledge? (If the answer is "never" then it doesn't even matter that he was out in public during the snap)
This is the biggest problem with the concept of a cinematic universe and especially one where fucking time travel/resurrection is a thing. Eventually plotholes pop up faster than you can plug them.

The first two Sam Raimi movies will always be superior in my eyes, especially Spider-Man 2, which is still my favorite comic book movie of all time. Into the Spider-Verse is the other (what I consider to be) GREAT Spider-Man movie.
The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 are the biggest pieces of trash I've ever watched, and to paraphrase Brie Larson, I feel like those movies are a personal attack. lol. They are cancer, and I absolutely despise everything about them.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is an almost great Spider-Man movie, but there are a couple of pretty big things about it that prevent it from being GREAT to me. Love Tom Holland as Spider-Man, though.
I like Spider-Man 3. I think it's on the same level of quality as the third Christopher Nolan Batman movie (which is a movie that most people liked). They're both films that are a followup to vastly superior movies, they both have some really dumb shit in them, but ultimately they are movies that I enjoy watching because there's just enough good stuff in them.
I get why people don't like Spider-Man 3 ... But I don't think it deserves to be on any "worst" list. At all.
Same, and I'm pleasantly surprised. Feige considers this the epilogue to Phase 3 and that trailer certainly explains why. (And as someone who actually likes the Tony Stark and Peter Parker dynamic in the movies, this is looking exactly like the kind of movie I hoped it would be after Endgame.)
I wouldn't listen to a word of "face of the franchise" bombast about Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, or even Black Panther. Spider-Man will absolutely be the successor to the Marvel movie torch. Young, extremely talented actor who has a great and effortless rapport with the fanbase? The most popular and recognizable superhero in the world outside the two guys with an S and a bat on their chests? An enormous and well-rounded supporting cast and rogues' gallery? Can fit the scope of any story from the mundane to the cosmic? Not the strongest of the white hats but definitely the most creative and resourceful? A firmly established mentor/student relationship with the most famous of the Avengers' old guard and was even personally "knighted" as an Avenger by him in Infinity War?
Really, goose eggs don't come more golden than that. Whatever they do for the next phase, Spidey will be the one to watch. And he deserves it.

PFFTTTTTTHAHAHAHAHA
The fact people still have faith in this authoritarian company is fucking laughable. Oh boy, I thought you guys were meant to be better than lolcows.
You know, we've been discussing how Marvel had been blatantly grooming Holland to be the successor of RDJ as the face and charisma of the MCU for when RDJ was done with the movies, but I didn't actually expect that to be the plot.

Ever since I saw the first Iron Man back in 2008, I had been wanting to see RDJ's Tony Stark interact with Spider-Man ('cause RDJ has been a goddamn gift-- no question, and Spidey is my favorite). After, what? 8 years of waiting and hoping it would happen, I finally got what I asked for in 2016 with Civil War ... And it has been everything I wanted and so much more. I legit cried in the theater when Iron Man hugged Spidey. What a great moment; tugged at my heartstrings in the best ways.
My one concern about this dynamic, though, is that I hope they haven't turned Tony into THE "Uncle Ben" of these films. Uncle Ben is so pivotal to the Spider-Man character that he needs to be directly mentioned. Nobody is asking for a sepia-toned flashback of Uncle Ben dying, however, it would be nice to see some mention of him at the very least. Maybe even show a few flashbacks of just Peter and Uncle Ben hanging out and sharing a moment together? Plus, one of Spidey's biggest motivators is guilt ... Uncle Ben represents that guilt ... And Tony Stark doesn't. Peter has nothing to feel guilty about with Tony's death in Endgame. He has plenty of reason to be sad, sure, but guilty? Nope.
I think it would be absolutely wonderful if they showed a flashback of a young Peter Parker watching some of those "really old movies" with Uncle Ben. Star Wars, Aliens ... That would be so adorable and bittersweet at the same time. I guess I'm just a sucker for being emotionally destroyed, lol.
Another nitpick of mine is that I'm still salty about the MCU's "MJ." I wouldn't have any issue with this character if they just named her Michelle and not given her the "MJ" moniker. Michelle is NOT MJ in any way. Doesn't look like her, and she especially doesn't act like her. In fact, naming her MJ takes a lot away from her character, actually. The movie studio obviously views her as a diversity quota with that nickname, which is dumb. At least with the MCU Flash Thompson, he acts a lot like the original character.
Plus, sorry, MJ is known for her RED HAIR. Without the red hair, she's not MJ. That would be like calling a superhero Batman when he isn't wearing the cowl. There are some distinct character design details that make a character a character. For MJ, it's undoubtedly her red hair. Comic book nerds everywhere still give Kirsten Dunst so much shit for her MJ (whose performance I REALLY liked, btw!) ... Yet I hear crickets about the MCU MJ ...
Thread is literally "HE DOESN'T LIKE MARVEL WHAT A LOLCOWLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"
So much funnier than "I eat repetitive pig slop and fund a authoritarian company that wants to kill creativity and brainwash children into chopping their dicks off!"

In regards to Spidey and guilt - one of the things I've noticed with his character through the years is that one of his main driving characteristics is guilt and angst. Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn, Jean DeWolfe, and easily a half-dozen other characters Spiderman blames their deaths on himself, whether directly or because he wasn't fast enough to save them, etc. etc. I always considered his wise-cracking just another disguise to hide the fact that internally he believes he's never good enough, no matter how many people he might save. So I figure it makes sense with Stark, but then again, this is an MCU movie so I'm probably giving them too much credit.
As for the MCU's Mary Jane... I could give you a whole conspiracy theory on it, but I think it just boils down to Disney making sure to add a mark to the diversity checklist. Also, because she's supposed o be some kind of super genius (because of course she is) I halfway expect her to become the surrogate Ironheart in the MCU, but again, that's my own conspiracy.
^That's the idea. He's haunted by the ghosts of his loved ones for years. A reason why he was hesitant to marry MJ the days before the wedding was because he feared she'd end up similarly to Gwen. I don't really like how the MCU made Peter so infantilized compared to other versions where he is more independent, but I suppose it can work in this context, a film right after Endgame.
If there's no mention of Uncle Ben it would be sad but not surprising tho.
And yeah, add another hate for the Amazing films. I figure a lot of the weird decisions of MCU Spidey are due to wanting to distance themselves from that franchise. Hence why no Uncle ben, no Goblins, Mary Jane turned into super genius woke Black Daria (because "muh Gwen" was all people ever talked about when those movies were out, and MJ being an ordinary but fun woman that she was in the comics is not acceptable for current year women)...
