I managed to watch it yesterday and I actually really liked the movie it’s fun, energetic , well written ,incredible animation, amazing characters. Also I did not know this coming in but this was Co-Written by Phill Lord ( honestly explained why I noticed a Clone high Easter egg , to be fair this movie has some odd Easter eggs ) Honestly the cast was superb and I urge you to give this movie a chance .
Ok so this movie although an origin story for Miles morales it gives it its own twist on the matter , honestly this movie is a love letter to Spider-man and his legacy as an older washed up peter Parker must teach Miles to not only become Spider-Man but his own Spider-man . Even though I love the other Spider-Men we could’ve not have them and the plot wouldn’t miss a beat but never the less Spider-Gwen was nice third addition to the main Spidermen and possible love interest . John mullaney as Spider-Ham was halarious and Nic Cage as a gritty humpfrei Bogart esq Spider-man had some of the funniest lines . What was surprising is that the main Spider-Man from miles dimension (played by Chris Pine ) was one of the most heroic version of Spider-Man that had such a pressense that when he was killed off you really felt for the guy. The Kingpin who I first was dubious about his role in the film had a good motivation to fire up a hydron collider as he wanted to get his family back as they fled from him when they found out what he truly was and then dying in a car accident , his lackies with the exception of Olivia Octavious ( Doc ock ) and prowler have a lot of screen time but not a lot of dioalouge and character building moments . One of my favorite jokes in the movie is right in the post credits scene so stick around .
