Spotify Just Removed 70 Episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience—but Not That One - Amidst ongoing accusations that Spotify is allowing Joe Rogan to spread covid-19 misinformation on his podcast, the platform has removed dozens of episodes.

Spotify pulled down at least 70 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience from its archives on Friday. However, the disappeared episodes don’t have much to do with the platform’s ongoing controversy over covid-19 misinformation.
One of the first to notice the episode purge was one of Rogan’s former guests, Ukrainian-American author and podcaster Michael Malice, who tweeted out Friday that two of his appearances had been deleted.

Notably, the most recent removed episode, #1218, is from December 2018.

After hearing about the takedowns, Gizmodo checked a website that regularly monitors Rogan’s episode visibility on Spotify and found that 70 of them had been deleted. We later manually checked and confirmed the site’s assessment. Clips of some of the deleted episodes appear to still be available on YouTube, though not all of them are.

In case you somehow haven’t heard, Rogan and Spotify have been at the center of an ever escalating controversy involving accusations that the podcaster has promoted covid-19 misinformation on his show. Rogan claims he’s just trying to have conversations with interesting people, but critics have consistently argued that the podcaster is helping to spread dangerous misinformation which could lead to real-world harm.

The platform’s refusal to take moderation action against Rogan has left the internet ablaze in polarized argument and inspired several aging rockstars—including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell—to pull their music off the streaming platform entirely.
Rogan recently published a video to Spotify in which he defended his choices and promised to get more opposing viewpoints, though critics have not seemed particularly satisfied with that response.

The episodes that were pulled don’t appear to have anything to do with the ongoing controversy. One of the episodes that has caused the most consternation—featuring the heavily criticized vaccine scientist Dr. Robert Malone—remains on Spotify. Malone was banned from Twitter after the platform determined he violated its covid-19 misinformation policy. YouTube removed clips of his appearance on Rogan’s podcast on similar grounds.

This also isn’t the first time that Spotify has done a purge of Rogan’s material. Last year it was reported that Spotify had quietly deleted over 40 episodes of Rogan’s show.

We reached out to Spotify for comment and will update this story if they respond or when more information becomes available.

At least this serves as an example that individuals should curate digital media they care about. You listen to Joe Rogan? Download the shows and sit on them.
As soon as Joe signed the deal with Spotify multiple peeps archived the entire JRE catalog exactly because this was going to happen.

"#232 Giorgio Tsoukalos Removed on February 4th, 2022"
Ancient Aliens is forbidden according to progressive doctrine now
As he's a progressive too, I wonder how much of these removals are because the guests are soliciting it now that Joe's under a bad light.

If there is one thing I know about progressives is that they are cowards with no spine. Just look how many of the most passionate anti-Trumpers were once his friends.

Thank god they didn’t remove any of the episodes with Shane Gillis

That's a truly bizarre list of episodes to take down. It's good to know though that CNN can be on air 24/7 but a stoner meathead can't have conversations.

Really weird that it's mostly his comedian friends.
Some were saying that these recent removals were due to him saying "nigger" in them, so it kinda makes sense, given that he's more likely to be loose and say retarded stuff when he's having comedians on.

He released an apology video on Instagram and I feel it's a bit of a shame. He should know by now that no amount of apologizing will ever be enough for the mob. Much better to stand your ground, regardless of whether you regret anything you've said or not. You can't give these people an inch.

I've watched quite a few Ari episodes and saw at least one Malice episode and don't remember hearing any of them drop the n bomb. Also odd that Shapiro episodes still exist.

They're removing the episodes with "NIGGER" in them, presumably because Twitter is going through every episode to try and find Joe saying it to cancel him because Spotify isn't giving them what they want. Who knows if it's Spotify or Joe doing it, but Joe did lie before about how not-involved Spotify is with the show.
Twatter is home to digital terrorists it’s digital ISISand most of the fuck heads on that site are white progressives who don’t speak for a entire people
and considering im in favor of shutting down the site permanently
All of Rogan should be gone, the man is a right wing idiot and deserves all the hate he gets.
we got a shit head for the establishment

He's literally groveling because a literal "who?" Sheboon India.Arie bitched at him for saying the word NIGGER in a conversation about the word.

He's officially Cuck Rogan now. He would have been better off letting Spotify violate his contract and collect the penalities, which will likely far exceed the $100 million they paid him. But some people never learn I guess *sigh*

am I the only one who thinks Twitter should be shut down pr people who take part in cancel culture terror attacks like they did with joe should be drone strike at worst and at best doxxed in mass should be held accountable. They are nothing short of cowards who hide behind fake accounts or blue checks. this is why I consider sites like Twitter the enemy of the American public if they put out their face on sites well they fucked up.

The removals don't show a deducible pattern or have anything to do with corona "misinformation" because the company has had keyword-seeking ESL pajeets and psychotic in-house troons both listening through and tagging Joe's shows over the entire period since they bought him. The only thing that just now happened is Spotify hitting the DELETE button. The current hysteria is an excuse to do it, not the reason for it.

Also odd that Shapiro episodes still exist.
Ancient aliens are more real than he is.
