Spotify Just Removed 70 Episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience—but Not That One - Amidst ongoing accusations that Spotify is allowing Joe Rogan to spread covid-19 misinformation on his podcast, the platform has removed dozens of episodes.

Spotify pulled down at least 70 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience from its archives on Friday. However, the disappeared episodes don’t have much to do with the platform’s ongoing controversy over covid-19 misinformation.
One of the first to notice the episode purge was one of Rogan’s former guests, Ukrainian-American author and podcaster Michael Malice, who tweeted out Friday that two of his appearances had been deleted.

Notably, the most recent removed episode, #1218, is from December 2018.

After hearing about the takedowns, Gizmodo checked a website that regularly monitors Rogan’s episode visibility on Spotify and found that 70 of them had been deleted. We later manually checked and confirmed the site’s assessment. Clips of some of the deleted episodes appear to still be available on YouTube, though not all of them are.

In case you somehow haven’t heard, Rogan and Spotify have been at the center of an ever escalating controversy involving accusations that the podcaster has promoted covid-19 misinformation on his show. Rogan claims he’s just trying to have conversations with interesting people, but critics have consistently argued that the podcaster is helping to spread dangerous misinformation which could lead to real-world harm.

The platform’s refusal to take moderation action against Rogan has left the internet ablaze in polarized argument and inspired several aging rockstars—including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell—to pull their music off the streaming platform entirely.
Rogan recently published a video to Spotify in which he defended his choices and promised to get more opposing viewpoints, though critics have not seemed particularly satisfied with that response.

The episodes that were pulled don’t appear to have anything to do with the ongoing controversy. One of the episodes that has caused the most consternation—featuring the heavily criticized vaccine scientist Dr. Robert Malone—remains on Spotify. Malone was banned from Twitter after the platform determined he violated its covid-19 misinformation policy. YouTube removed clips of his appearance on Rogan’s podcast on similar grounds.

This also isn’t the first time that Spotify has done a purge of Rogan’s material. Last year it was reported that Spotify had quietly deleted over 40 episodes of Rogan’s show.

We reached out to Spotify for comment and will update this story if they respond or when more information becomes available.

The removals don't show a deducible pattern or have anything to do with corona "misinformation" because the company has had keyword-seeking ESL pajeets and psychotic in-house troons both listening through and tagging Joe's shows over the entire period since they bought him. The only thing that just now happened is Spotify hitting the DELETE button. The current hysteria is an excuse to do it, not the reason for it.

Ancient aliens are more real than he is.
Agreed but you know how the left feels about him.
It started with this terror group patriot takes

Do these new missing episodes have anything to do with the nigger controversy? I just watched his apology video for the nigger compilation and it really disappointed me. I know he's just looking out for the optics and I can't blame him for that, but.. He's Joe Rogan.. not a youtube unboxing channel. He could have easily doubled down on how much context matters and continued doing what he's doing.

Now he has set a precedent that he's susceptible to cancel culture.

Yes I think so

Fuck a society that can embrace joe rogan until it’s inconvenient. He is no different today than he was when he was signed to his $100 mil contract the only difference is people actually know what joe rogan was doing to get people to listen to him and earn that $100 mil and the cultural censors have deemed that verboten.

I'm continually astonished at how EVERY public figure who faces a cancel attempt EVERY time refuses to understand that apologies don't make the problem go away. Apologies just make them double-down on the effort to cancel you.

Why do they never realise that you can't play by the outrage mob's rules? Just for once I'd love to see someone come out swinging and argue why the reasons they're being cancelled are bullshit, providing context and evidence. But it happens so infrequently. And many people will be more reluctant to defend Rogan now that he has bent the knee to the Twitteroids.

He is much worse than anyone else, since he know how this game is played better than anyone else, and still does this.

Joe Rogan, the last of the 1990s era style dudebro, has killed them off.

So I'm confused. Some of you guys don't seem to be aware that Rogan is fully behind this takedown and has removed the episodes from other platforms.

A lot of people in this thread are talking like it's a big conspiracy or some shit. I'm pretty sure Joe Rogan is just capitulating to the masses, like he usually does.
That seems like the best guess but considering these people who want to ruin him are nothing short than terrorists period. if I were in charge of the country I would just Create a IRL version of project insight and start removing them from the board. If you ever saw the movie you know what happens next if enacted.

They took down Tom Segura and Michael Malice episodes? Tom Segura I can understand, he's a spic throwing around the n-word like an arab throws bombs at girl schools, but Malice? He's a conservative but I couldn't figure that out from his first appearance, I read that later on the internet. He was there to promote his book about North Korea and mostly talked about tropical fish and got mocked for his haircut and buying a hundred pairs of Japanese designer jeans. It was really funny and I took him for a Jon Ronson type of character. I guess his sin was knowing about 4chan and internet jokes.

Joe is sounding more and more like he’s bending the knee, all due to race jokes. Despite the fact that he had Dave Chappelle on a couple of occasions when he was getting fried up by the media for trans jokes, it’s just never enough.

As said before, it’s still not going to make up for the fact that he rightfully claimed that trans people are making women’s sports hard for real athletic and female women to succeed in their sport.

Joe should know that the more he talks like this, he ignores the fact that people supporting this are trying to pit those sides against one another. He’s not gaining support for this response.

Fuck these people and fuck joe for bending the knee. Im already in favor of just mass doxxing these people who attack joe because let’s be fair they fucking deserve it and after all it’s not going to be their fucking night. They are just ripe cunts and normally I don’t advocate for it.

I'm pretty sure the n bomb was not dropped on the Kevin Smith episode. Nor the Dave Foley episode.
