Yeeah I have my doubts about this, Young Justice got shitcanned on Cartoon Network in 2013 because it was mostly teen girls-adult women watching it and they weren't buying the toys Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Thundercats reboot got shitcanned for similar reasons.

Ghostbusters 2016 was a massive failure as well and Star Wars merchandise sales have been in the shitter since The Last Jedi no matter how hard Disney panders to women.

I think it's just marketers telling execs that "political correctness" or "wokeness" if you prefer is how you sell shit to Millennials.

Hold the fuck on, the SE stuff goes on to say they did it for technical reasons because having huge boobs interfered with the animations of the rig.

That makes sense because if they were Queen's Blade size they would look very out of place and would clip into shit. They're going for a more realism type design so huge tits would look very out of place.

Having the boobs be two battleship cannons would make hundreds of hours of more work to get them to animate properly. This is also why they got rid of all the fat people in Final Fantasy 7 and made them look more muscular or burly. Fat people who have to move a ton are a pain in the ass to animate if you're doing realism to the point that Square Enix is doing. Shrek would be the primary example, shrek is a fat fuck who has multiple layers to his rig for both fat and muscle. Fat people's bodies will clip into themselves if you don't have the rigs properly set up because they are more complex. But they still require far more work to get right than a thin or muscular person's body.

Also not every character will have one rig, it's typical that one character will have many rigs of themselves especially if you're going to have cinematic scenes in the game. Each scene would require it's own rig if it's something like them sitting down or having a part of their body not move like when they ride a horse. If it's a fat person you have to get their fat to move and shift right.

Asymmetrical characters are also a pain in the ass to rig as well as characters who are made up of fluids or heavily feature fluids or gel in their body motion.


Basically if there's a fat person you're making more work for yourself.

This really isn't censorship because they shrunk the size of barret's feet as well and changed many character's proportions. Tifa looks fine as is in the more realistic style.

Fair enough, but my point was more that spergy guys like Billy play right into the “MSM journos” hands, not that he causes them to be awful, that was done by them already. Take his boner culture shit for instance, he took a valid criticism about MK11’s shitty female costumes and accidentally turned it into a joke for the leftists with his own idiocy.

I guess my point is that Billy and his ilk don’t cause the already awful journos to act badly, it’s more that they’re incompetent at what they do because they’d rather reeeee and sperg instead of getting things done, which ultimately results in them turning into laughing stocks.

But that doesn't make sense - a character's rig is unique to that model by design. Sure, you can reuse a general shape or various toggles/sliders but when adjusting the skin weights you're going to have some clear and obvious differences, i.e. tits. I'm not accusing them of being lazy but you can feasibly have as much or as little jiggle as you want limited by the tools created for the rig.

a big boobie rig will cause havoc to whatever cloth simulations they use more than likely. Remember half of Tifa's move involve her flying through the air, including shit like dolphin punch.

Remember all the glitches and shit that happened with final fantasy 15 including enemies spawning during cutscenes? Square does not have the most tech capable people many of these systems are too big at this point to break down and to fix glitches because the people who originally built them moved on and the people who replaced them built more shit on top of it. Sort of like how Bethesda can't fix shit in their game engine because of how many bugs in it snowballed with each game release that they never bothered to fix.
