For the incredibly low population the game has, there's no chance in hell they'd pick someone unique like one of the Mutants.

These additions suck, they are just female version of character who already exists, and it's been that way since the very start with Kate Bishop.

What do you expect when the game can barely wrangle a couple thousand players at a time on all platforms? No, derivative characters (how appropriate that this game demonstrates that more honestly than the comics & movies) are going to be the way until the game gets taken off life support, and frankly new characters would probably be as half assed as Spider-Man was anyway.

1. I'm honestly surprised they are still supporting this game beyond basic skins and that people are apparently still playing it.

In addition to the general new lackluster content, their lead designer Brian Waggoner was outed as a racist transphobe and Trump voter. Yes, digging up old tweets got him cancelled.

Crystal Dynamics (the studio behind this game) issued an apology and subsequently had Waggoner removed as their spokesperson for the game.


Outlook is not very good or certain for the future despite the new character addition, leading most to speculate that if anything new comes there is with possibly She-Hulk or Captain Marvel. The overall reaction is that they will just contractually milk it with skins given they still have whales. Who really knows but most speculate that 2023 is its final year.

Marvel's Avengers will receive its final update on March 31, 2023. September 30 will be the last day where Marvel's Avengers would be considered a "live service" title. I misread this as Marvel's Avengers shutting its servers down. But, it will be delisted on September 30th.

What the shit happened to Square Enix? They were fucking unstoppable during the Ps2 era and fast forward a decade and they've just had flop after flop, after flop, after, flop. Even Final Fantasy their flagship franchise has only had one good entry in twelve years and that was a fucking remake of an older game.

(I don't count the MMO stuff because those are basically spinoffs done by external studios)
