Well, My idea was more focused on "Who is the best character to kick off this plot." and Ghost Rider going after Caps and finding out he is innocent..but the spirit still needing sating makes for a very great character drive.
Wasn't this game in development like wayyy before Disney bought Fox just to get the X-Men and F4 movie rights back?

I think it's going to be almost by the numbers MCU influenced. Not that it's a bad idea, but I do hope we at least see more than just the MCU Avengers roster.

They should just follow the super smash bro formula and add every single character to kingdom hearts

I find it funny that people are getting mad about this exclusive shit but nobody made a peep about the borderline theft that is what Sony did with Little Devil Inside. Though I also have to wonder why Sony would bother paying for exclusive content to a game that looks like absolute dogshit like Avengers does.

Every redditor and his sock accounts are gonna buy a copy of this game, literally because it says "avengers" on the box

I'm still not sure what this game is even supposed to be.

TLDR Squeenix, you gotta make this at least as good as the Lego Marvel Superhero games. That's the bar. If you can't do that, then get absolutely fucked.

Playing this beta. It's alright. I mean, I don't know what other people were expecting but this is pretty much what I'd imagine an Avengers game would be for better or worse.

Well, outside of the awful awful Ms. Marvel parts. Jesus Christ, they *really* want to make her the new Spider-Man, don't they?
Would you care to elaborate on how awful Stretch Allah-Strong's segments are?

After the intro from the trailers, it cuts to further in the story when her and Bruce are looking for some base in a jungle. Here you're playing as Hulk, but she's always kind of around on the radio even when you're not playing as her, just rambling about shit that's on screen and gushing about super heroes and shit. After maybe a half hour of Hulk, it cuts to her. In this whole stage, she has a single combat encounter and it's really lame. You're in this weird area with a big pit with three platforms over it, and you have to press these buttons on computers on the platforms. But every time you do, a bunch of enemies swarm you. Just feels really really padded to give her some fighting to do. After that it's one of those boring "walk around while she comments on everything she finds" sections before it cuts back to Hulk for a boss fight.

After that there was a weird cut (I'm guessing for the beta) and an exposition scene (She says something like she was at A-Day because she was trying to win a fan fiction contest? What?) then it was back to "look around room and press buttons to get comments" and I decided to stop playing. She might have more combat sections later, I dunno, it just seems like her main role is just going to be to be a fangirl and ramble about stupid shit while you're beating people up though.

Kinda soured me, ya know. I wanted The Avengers, not Ms. Marvel and The Avengers.

+1 for "just ok". It feels like you could really get into the feel of things before you're overwhelmed by a series of cheapshots that you can't reasonably do much about, so you die and try again and hope you're not put into that same situation where you're again swarmed in a way that feels like chance as opposed to you not actively playing properly.

Did any of you play the Hammerhead DLC for Spider-Man PS4, where it was mostly hide-outs you had to take back, but it was significantly harder than the main game and there were way more guns? That's what this entire game felt like. You're pinned into small areas with little cover and nowhere to run and nearly every enemy has a gun that does a ton of damage very quickly, and though you also have ranged attacks, it becomes a matter of trying to time shit in a way that feels more like trial-and-error than ability. The closest newer game I can compare it tois Ghost of Tsushima where you're constantly raped by archers while you're trying to block off guys with swords, but way, way less forgiving than Ghost and it's way more difficult to knock out the people shooting shit. It marred an otherwise mediocre-bordering-on-fun experience for me a lot.

Kamala didn't bug me as much as the guy above me, but I will say she does talk a lot I can see that becoming annoying for some people.

Yeah, the gun enemies got really annoying during the snow mission. I can't tell if I'm just bad, or if there just isn't a good way to dodge their shots.

I feel like people who are really into Marvel right now will enjoy it for what it is. I'm kind of getting burned out on Marvel though, and I really don't want to spend 60 bucks on something I'm just kind of going to enjoy and maybe play once a month. Especially if I have to get through a campaign I find annoying to get any of the characters I enjoy.

Yeah I feel like even if it's my lack of skill, it's still the game's fault for not giving me enough of a heads up of what I "should" be doing to avoid it. I'm doing my bets to level up as I go to avoid frustration, but way too much of it feels like unavoidable cheap shots from every angle.

Hopefully since it's still "in beta" they're taking feedback and will tweak it a bit, because right now it's obnoxiousto the point I shut the console off for now. On the bright side, when it's not a parade of annoyance, it's a lot more fun than I expected it to be. I did expect it to be total flaming dogshit, though, so take that as you will.

How's Widow?

I've only played with her a little, but in my experience she's a very nimble, almost "fighting game styled" character compared to the rest of them being more traditional beat 'em up feeling ones. Given that I assumed she'd be relegated to more stealth type missions I was surprised at how much action she's actually designed for.
