Squid Game - battle Royale but adults!

God this season was really hard to finish. I stand by my point that the increased comedy ruined the show a lot and all the players are unbearable and uninteresting.
It definitely lost a lot of quality. But honestly episode 6 was okay. Overall the series is not bad but it is disappointing that it recycled some things from season 1, I expected something more original.

This stupid troon is being rated as the best character, and I'm not surprised by such an opinion since the series didn't offer anything else.
What the hell was that scene where he asked that no one see him kick a small ball because he hasn't cut his dick off? Seriously, everyone wears baggy clothes. What was the purpose of that scene? Just to prove that his reasons for being there are the most stupid and selfish? (genuine question how much does an ex-military man or general of the Korean army make?) he explains that no one in his life wanted to talk to him again because he's a troon, and that his debts have grown, but he seems more concerned about cutting off his penis because he's convinced that will solve his life lol. This character will never be like Ali Abdul.

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but the first season showed us remarkable and good female characters, but now there is nothing, women barely have any prominence and they die very quickly.

Now wait until the next season but I won't have any expectations this time.

The sob story actually pissed me off, as if there isn't a literal pregnant woman who was begging to go home so her baby wouldn't fucking die but no, this stupid tranny insists his cock chop is more important than her.

Honestly color me surprised, like I said in my last post they absolutely nailed the way these creatures act down to a T. Usually Asian media just randomly drops that a character is a troon when they're played by an actual woman like Kuina from Alice in borderlands and then just carries on with the main cast.

There's absolutely no way netflix isn't behind this but the thing that makes me laugh the most is how they go the extra yard to make him look all dainty and effeminate and yet he's like twice the size of every other character :story:

The actor that plays the tranny, Park Sunghoon, has in the past been very, very lean. So it's hilarious that he has plumbed put a bit and would be an intentional choice. The issue is that he has too much charisma as a dude to make it work and expect him to just fall back 100% full bore into dude mode. Truly the best worst character.

I cannot quote someone above, but the point of him showing how to arm the guns to the rest is because he was Korean Special Forces, which is more elite than marines. You can be conscripted and serve in the marines for your mandatory military duties. The point is that the tranny is yet again a bigger man than all the others because he has 100% served on the frontline. He's basically the baddest guy there in the game... who is this character meant to be for, wtf.

I thought the first three episodes were good but my god did it fall off in quality, basically when the troon appeared it shit the bed and never recovererd, I am so sick of the tender, good troon bullshit Netflix loves to push and I knew they wouldn't kill him.

Crappy ending too, that is not a resolution...is there more to come?

They were planning a season 3 ever since they announced season 2 I think, though I could be wrong about that. And from what we got now it's obvious splitting the story in two was always the plan.

Another thing I really hated this season was that players were given the chance to leave the games and take a small amount of money with them, are you telling me that evil and sadistic VIPs would let their means of entertainment walk away with a prize? That takes away all sense of tension and danger, just to further wear down the whole "people are greedy lolz" theme.
There are a lot of similar things from the first season but they were implemented poorly, as the show made the mistake of explaining and not showing.

It's Netflix so there's definitely some tranny fucker involved. The scene of the loser son saying how Thai transsexuals are so much more beautiful, the women accepting him, calling him beautiful and totally a woman and even letting him go into the bathroom with them says it all. I wonder how Korean terfs feel.
But honestly the writing of this character is weird, it fulfills all the American troon stereotypes.

I really hate how he beats that woman until she bleeds and then threatens to kill her just for having a nervous breakdown in the middle of the game, as crazy religious as she was (plus she never treated him badly before) that scene was a gratuitous attack with comedic intent.

Holy shit, they spent so much money plastering cities all around just to advertise a half season. First two episodes were good, the uprising scenes were really good but then everything else was either a slog or just dumb like the plot with fisherman was decent at first but then it felt tiresome and twists were obvious. It had been three years... for 6 fucking episodes of this?

'oh shit we had a worldwide hit! How can we milk this for some more $$$' the series.
They were so desperate for the $$$ they first made an American game show on it (which for an American game show, is pretty ok).

This one? Can’t really hit the same notes as the original. Tranny is simultaneously unrealistic in how “cool” and “valid” he is and avoids getting much happening to him while hitting all the notes about how on the nose he is. Is tall and mannish with a male voice, beats women and threatens them with violence, wants the snip which is why he’s here. Pretty much a male character in all parts.

Games…mingle one was pretty good I think. Other different one they played it more for laughs which I don’t recall any of the other ones in the original season being the case. All played with varying degrees of seriousness.

Doesn´t make sense since they do know that each winner could raise awareness of the games existence.

Then there are also two youtubers, a past winner and some ex-marines.

Having 100 or so people win is just gonna make it that much harder to keep track of.

i am the man of unpopular opinion in thinking youre overreacting over this because you just dont like the transgenders to begin with thus letting it poison your thoughts on the season and making you dislike it as a whole for the wrong reason. its not bad because woke, but because of being a cash grab due to unexpected success and everyone missing the message to make money off of its success, ironically pointing out exactly what the show was talking about in the process.
also that trans character was weirdly well written from a character perspective and thats probably the best depiction you'll get from a korean property on the topic and the biggest issue is them doing the cliffhanger to bait a 3rd season on something that didnt need a second one, though i will admit to being entertained by the story they did anyway

Should have just got on that plane.

Anyway hubby and I finished the 3rd episode last night.
Started okay. I liked how insane the recruiter was, literally chasing the thrill of death. Decided to share said thrill. Kind of sad he died, thought he would try to convince main dude and encourage him to recruit too.
Main dude got decently rich. Why not pay people to find the place properly, or actually infiltrate as a bad guy? Or just become bad guy. I thought police dude would be in the game as well but nvm he’s off on an impossible treasure hunt.
Troon I just want to see get shot through the head. Deserves to be there purely because he belongs in the “I was selfish and chose unnecessary risk” lot of people competing. Great, include a troon, but don’t make the sole reason because he’s a fucking troon. I love the cast for him, I love that during the first game “form a Congo behind tall people” meant he’s in front.
Found the crypto guy funny. “Nah it’s not my fault you listened to me. Get fucked.”
Purple hair dude I thought would be more annoying. Strange how they didn’t confiscate his drug necklace, they’re obviously fairly thorough with their searches since they found the tracker? Oh well.

Don’t expect much from this season. It’s an obvious cash grab and I’m sure all the Roblox people will make games and let the kiddies know how the season went. And get ready to hear that intro music on tikkitytok bwahaha.

Just finished the second season, and it was enjoyable. Found the cliffhanger to be pretty annoying, like I know they filmed seasons 2 and 3 back to back, with the third season being the final one (at least that's good)

Only other grievance is how the cop subplot went, it felt a bit meandering.

Other than that, I liked a lot of the new cast members, and liked they gave depth to a few of the season 1 characters like Gi-hun, Front Man, and the Recruiter.

Best episodes are the first three and sixth one.

The last episode felt like there was another episode waiting to happen right after, hopefully the wait for the third season isn't as long.

Finished the season. Spoilers.

Didn't think the troon was a big deal, the series is set in real life, and there are are probably a solid number of troons in SKorea. While the troon is one of the protagonists, he isn't a mary sue and has motivations many troons have.

What really annoyed me is that the fucking cop subplot goes nowhere AGAIN and that so many scenes were recycled from season 1 without much spin on them.

The strength of Squid Game for me was always the characters, and I think the new cast was pretty strong overall.
For example, crypto scammer and his pregnant ex, the mother-son duo and Thanos were a lot of fun.

Compared to the usual series-slop nowadays it is still pretty good and I enjoyed it.
Hopefully next season will have some payoffs.

Nigel and I have been waiting eagerly for this and enjoyed it very much.

Our theory so far is that In-ho, player 001, has been given the job of essentially making Gi-hun fall to the 'dark side' by demonstrating what he said in the car, 'the game won't charge until the world does'. He carefully sets up scenarios where the players COULD make the humane, sensible, optimistic or selfless decision.... and every time the players demonstrate the shittiest parts of human nature. Finally in the 'insurrection' he betrays Gi-hun, kills his bestie and blames Gi-hun for it. We think the VIPs' plan is to 'turn' Gi-hun and make him the new game controller, because someone who has turned from his optimistic view of human nature will be even more of a blackpilled bastard than In-ho is.

It can't be accidental that In-ho is always around Gi-hun when the most blackpilling shit happens:
- the son literally abandons his mother to die
- the tranny, having finally been accepted by based grandma and shy girl, then condemns them to possible death by deciding to play again to get his cock chop
- tries to convince Gi-hun of the need to kill the other side but Gi-hun still refuses and proposes insurrection
- even when he 'supports' Gi-hun in the votes to stop, the other players insist on continuing

Every time the players have the chance to show Gi-hun that his belief from the first series - that people are fundamentally good and will try to help each other - is true, they demonstrate that it's false and In-ho is right there.

I know I shoudln't be surprised that redditors are deepthroating the tranny, but its still pissing me off how ridiculously forced it is.

Thanos was unironically pure kino. I started off hating him but by the end I loved him and was actually sad when he died because it meant we wouldn't be getting more of him.
