SsethTzeentach - Hey hey people

Also tbh for being tankies they are seemingly smart enough to actually gate keep the community id call that based. It proves everything needs gatekeepers.
Nah, they most of all need diversity in form of dissenting opinions. If they flood our communities, then they don't get to have their own gated ones.

Only an avowed communist could have a complete stranger promote the product they create for free, and get an influx of income from it and find away to make it bad.

Re: tankies and gatekeeping; tankies are the lowest of the low in terms of online idpol. You have to be so stupid to idealize Soviet style communism that you're the only thing dumber than an actual communist; any other people coming into the community would be a marked improvement

So, how long until the community around Caves of Qud gets a thread? It seems like there could be some fun salt to be mined.
I'd say hyper autistic roguelikes like CoQ and Dwarf Fortress could get lumped into one community megathread. However, I can't really think of any drama DF had aside from introducing trans dwarfs.

Considering the influx of "the wrong kind of people" into CoQ thanks to Sseth, there'll be some gay event that will likely spawn a thread.

I'm going to bet a dev breaks and starts banning people from the Discord en masse to stop the incoming fascism.

This is the first game where the devs disliked Sseth's promotion right? I can see why they fear the "Ssethtide" but based on my experiences Sseth's fans for the most part do respect the original game communities and try to blend in rather than forcefully take over.

I imagine other indie games don't like the fact that Seth encourage piracy to try the game and gives tips to find the games for a very low price.

Seth is a giant boon to every games he feature.
They are such ungratefull faggets
The Starsector guy still hasn't updated his game and blacklisted the key sseth handed out in his review, maybe he doesn't care much about the review, or maybe he's struggling to get a nice big update out :(

Did that ever even happen? I just remember them saying "it could happen". I'm pretty sure the DF devs are big fags but they're welcome to continue being fags as long as the game keeps being fun.

I was going to say something like "as if a twitter tranny would put in the time to learn Dorf" but most of them are autistic, statistically.

Did they? I used Sseth's key to activate the game just a couple months ago.

I bought Caves of Qud a year or two ago. It was cool, but it felt like a game that was too deep in early access to have an idea of what it was trying to be yet -- it was at that stage where it was still trying to be clever, creative, and cool without crashing first, before it started figuring out how to be playable or fun. I deleted it after a few games where I died in uninteresting and impossible-to-predict ways (like immediately running into extremely outleveled enemies who were given no indicator of being such), installed some other game that was successful at being fun, and forgot that Caves of Qud existed.

Sounds like it's developed since then, but it also sounds like a game that's improving despite its community, rather than thanks to it.

Apperently this is the dev that "Qgirl" (the furry self insert) is based on.

No, you misread. He only updates the blacklisted serials in each new version (i think you can even pry the list out of the code if you have a C# reflector) and .95 is still in closed testing.

Good move imo, piracy should be that accessible.
The ecosystem works best when normies and children are scared to pirate or don't know how to do it. Popular YT video is too weak a barrier.

Starsector is in development since 2010 or earlier so im sure its fine, their last blog update was on August 13 with no indication of them stopping.

A little different, but the Space Station 13 community weren't happy with him covering the game.

Isn't that because it's such an intense team-based game that it actually fucked the ability to play a decent game for awhile? I know Oney was hated in the community for the same reason. I think there was even someone in this thread who pointed out that Sseth stole a story and video from a guy for his Dwarf Fortress Review, if we're talking about controversies.
