I am willing to bet that this shit be able to render that style perfectly within the next 5 years, freeing many deadbeat Indians from jobs at big companies, why pay Pajeets to do your corporate art when you can just use a machine to make it for you?

oh yeah, i forgot we live in the COONSOOM era and that AI generated images are made to give dopamine rush to people that are used to wake up to a new MCU movie every day. I am going to keep drawing, i just pity all of you who get satisfied with pressing a button and getting a generic anime girl instead of spending years working to develop a skill, it's not coincide that we live in the era with the highest sucide and depression rates when working towards a skill means nothing anymore. AI is killing one of the most meritocratic skills in human history, one that requiers years and not everyone can achieve, and turning it into another way for millionaires to get rich. Humans get more and more hollow each year.

It does seem like having a fun idea for an individual piece has been solved. But it can't do full comics yet. Sure give it time and it'll generate endless chapters for your favorite comic, and feel no different from reading manga at random on one of those manga hosting sites. Until then...

Actually for someone who reads LNs/WNs, if you woke up tomorrow and found out all of those were written by an AI, how surprised would you be really?

Because all art is just Piss Christ and nothing else.

If art is such a garbage medium anyway then why bother compiling so much of it to automate it in the first place?

Art, just like every other facet of life, will become a programmer's paradise. Why waste years learning how to physically or digitally paint when a nerd with a decent rig can use a program to make the art they personally desire? Welcome to the information age always promised, where nerdy coomer programmers overtake every industry. This is already the future of vfx effects in movies where the computer does more work than the vfx artist, it's was only a matter of time that this translated to digital art.

Specific algorithms will become the new Picasso. Praise the machine spirit!

My point is not that art is a garbage medium but that something being art is neither intrinsically good nor special. And as someone that has had the miss fortune of being too close to the humanities side of education I can tell you that artists have an over inflated ego and an under developed courage. They shield themselves with generic statements like: "AI will destroy art." When they really mean: "AI will now compete with my shitty art."

good art skills were never necessary to make a good game/comic, in fact, games/comic with shitty artstyles often helped differentiate the stuff made with true passion and the products made by companies. One puch man, Touhou and Higurashi No naku koro ni are prime examples of that. If manga and videogames were already littered by the most low effort shit made with unity/csp presets i can't imagine now. Meritocracy is dead guys, it's not worth trying anymore, just submit to your robot overlords and become a CONSOOMER.

I remember over 10 years ago something of a similar controversy when a programmer created an AI into which he fed composers works and had them generate new pieces, and no one could tell the difference. It didn't revolutionize instrumental works, and as far as I can tell, no one even uses that stuff for creative prompts. No one is making an AI Bach for new Baroque pieces, even though programming-wise it would be trivially easy, as the rule sets for that sort of music are very narrow.

You see, what the AI produced could be recognized to it's era and often to it's inputted composer, but what was also interesting was how forgettable everything it generated was.

Looking at this AI art, I get the same feeling in many respects (ironic, since my forum Avatar is AI art). What we remember best is how it currently fails, and no one wants to look at this stuff other than to meme, shitpost, produce visual filler material, or, what it will likely end up doing the most, producing shit for coomers to bust a nut.
