I think there's a fine line between, "This is poorly written. I do not enjoy this characterization," and totally losing your sperghetti. If I wasn't able to accept merely OK TV shows with some issues, I wouldn't have watched anything new for the last decade plus. I'm too old to actually get angry about TV shows and movies.
I feel you. I've seen nothing past the third Chris Pine movie. Not a single episode of Discovery, Picard, etc.

Why give people who hate me viewership?

Spock being out of character
As far as I can tell, they've made him more like his character in the first TOS pilot.

I'm married with kids and work full time. What else am I going to do after I smoke a bat at 9:00 on a Tuesday night? Let me watch my pirated mediocre shows.
This is the rule I'm applying, these days. I have my old Trek and Stargate DVDs (and Clarkson's Farm) if I want real grist, or I can read a book. Lower Decks is popcorn trash that I watch if I want cheap laughs.

I also have some collection of Trek, Stargate, Alien, Futurama, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Cowboy Bebop and MST3K, among other vintage sci-fi stuff from the past, including literature. I also do pirating, and I mean a whole lot, because I don't wish to give big name companies any money

You're giving them your time, which you will never get back.

But it is fun to revisit the classics.

I mean I agree with you guys on that. I only watch old shows in my collection now. Wife and I might do another Buffy sit through but I might prevail on her to sit through 7 seasons of Drew Carey I pirated many moons ago that are obvious VHS tapings.

I'll admit I've sincerely chuckled a few times at clips I've seen of Lower Decks, but yeah seriously fuck sitting through an entire new trek.
If I was hanging out with some nerd bros and somebody put it on I wouldn't spaz about it but fuck watching it on my own

I've tried watching Lower Decks but the way the characters speak is more annoying than Wesley. I just can't do it. This week's episode didn't change my mind. How the fuck was that annoying black chick not drummed out of Starfleet?
Earth already elected Stacey Abrams as president of the planet more than a hundred years before Lower Decks, obviously annoying negresses are considered a plus

Wrong. Earth elected Stacey Abrams in the 30th century when they were an isolationist planet after a retarded alien cried about his dead mom and blew up all the dilithium.
Every time I hear this story summation I want to check into a suicide booth.

It's weird but unsurprising that there's a Rick & Morty-esque animated sitcom of Stark Trek and also fugly CG Nickelodeon show of Star Trek (the latter was cancelled btw). At this point, Paramount is going to say fuck it and make a Star Trek anime as done by either Powerhouse Animation or Studio Trigger.

Let me ask you this Flexo, are all of Mexican models from Mom very suicidal like Bender?
