(Dr Pulaski notwithstanding)
I will not hear this slander. Pulaski was a great character that shook up the kumbaya bullshit that plagued the main characters. She had character growth and the show suffered for her leaving since Crusher's character was just a pretty red head that went along with things for the entire run.

yeah "Girl Bones" isn't much of a character but it's a lot more than Crusher was

She served a purpose, in the same way Keiko served a purpose (to make Miles miserable), but I still hated them both.

That's fair, I think if she had more time they would've Worf'd her and unlike Keiko the fandom would've warmed up to her a lot.

I can see someone's favorite show being the one with the hot big-bewbed chick in a tight uniform.
To be fair, the dynamic of Voyager changes for the better once Seven joins. The stories with her and the kids are great; you could have a whole series of that.

But with no pervo doctor, or Geordi-level desperation from Chakotay.

Even if Jeri Ryan wasn't a literal Beauty Queen,* her performance is pretty good in a superb cast and if you were to ask me what was Seven of Nine's characteristics are, I would not say skin-tight outfit. I would say resentful Ice Queen.

*Although Harry does fumble when she asks him if he wants sex. If she asks if you want sex, you say, "Yes!"

I liked Voyager. It is the one I grew up watching in the 90s. Salamander babies notwithstanding.

All you voyager haters, can suck it.

voyager is nice for when you want a trek you havent memorized but still does the basic
OH NO A SPACE TIME THINGY
FIRE THE BLUE BEAM
OH NO THE BLUE BEAM DIDN'T WORK
FIRE THE RED BEAM
OH NO THE RED BEAM DIDN'T WORK
REROUTE THE RED BEAM INTO THE BLUE BEAM THROUGH THE BEATLEBORG ARMATURE
HOORAY IT WORKED
of post OG-trek

also I really liked the time Q turned Crusher into a barking dog and it really didn't impact her interaction with the show in any way

This is exactly how I use voyager. I can recognize all but a handful of TNG episodes just from the cold open, so when I want a “new” anomaly-of-the-week style episode to throw on at random that’s when I call Janeway & Co off the bench.

I never made it to the Seven seasons, I gave up at the beginning of season 4 from boredom. I might just skip straight to it seeing the way everyone's talking about it.

yeah The Seven and EMH Show (with Janeway and Paris!) isn't bad
there's really fun one later in the series where Paris has to take his space driving test

My favorite part of Voyager is that Harry Kim stays an ensign for the entirety of his stay in the Delta quadrant while Tom Paris gets demoted and reinstated as a lieutenant in the same time period.

iirc part of that was Kim's actor would show up late/hungover a lot so they couldn't really rely on him to be an active character for any length of time, and wrote him to be immediately substituted any time needed
typo edit

I read somewhere that he said something to some rag once and it incensed the higher-ups as well.

I thought they were all jealous that he was considered a heartthrob.

In 1997, he was chosen by People Magazine as one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World". And in 2001, E! (Entertainment Television) selected Wang as one of the "20 Coolest Bachelors" in the country.

Also

Wang had strong criticisms of Voyager co-creator and executive producer Rick Berman. During a chat with the website GeeksOn.com, Wang claimed Berman had visited the set of Star Trek: Voyageronly twice in seven years, called him "an idiot".
