O'Brien taught me that some of the Irish are ok. Or, well, at least the Irish from 350 years into the future.
He's a stubborn fucker though, a lot of the bad shit that happens to him (especially involving other people) he brings on himself.
We Irish are a contentious bunch, lots of natural enemies. Like Englishmen and Irish. Or Welshman and Irish. Or Cardassians and Irish!

As for Quarks daughter I could take her or leave her. It's just surprising they never tried tracking her down in the gamma quadrant since she was so pivotal, even though she didn't appear on screen (except the photo.). Your Intern Theory Sucks
Man you weren't even there on the original boards back in the day when all the theories were hotly debated for YEARS after that episode aired. (I can still recall the hope that eventually became a running joke that the "daughter" would appear in Voyager.) No johnny-come-lately has a right to judge what theories suck until you've witnessed the worst Trekkie autism has to offer.

For what it's worth, we are probably no more than a decade away from being able to generate wholely original episodes using AI. You may get your team up some day.

I've been idly hoping for that point we can finally magically create Season 8, and you're right, I think it's near by.

This story arc is the one I'm going to ask it to produce.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=NLE981XazG8Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this?

Idk, I don’t have a lot of faith in Skydance. They co-produced the Jar Jar Abrams Trek movies. What needs to happen is someone in charge needs to say “hey, people really liked that Orville show...let’s take Star Trek back to being like that instead of this blunt, hamfisted grimdark shit.”

Saw it on another blog, the author had this to say:

Truthfully, I’d manage your expectations if I was you. Dreamworks is the company that brought in JJ Abrams in the first place, he still has connections with Skydance and he is still trying to get his version of Star Trek IV off the ground. The last Star Trek movie of his was in 2016 and JJ appears to be suffering from necrophilia when it comes to Kirk and company, he won’t give it up no matter how dead it is. As for Alex Kurtzman, Glob only knows what was in the contract he got Paramount to sign. I’ve even heard rumors that he got an ownership stake in the IP. You would have to be eight kinds of retard to have given that to him with his shitty performance record. But Bob Bakish was, unquestionably, stupid enough to do that. There was a reason Shari Redstone had him thrown from the rooftops right before the last earnings call.
There is only two very dim hopes for Star Trek’s future. One David Ellison is no innovator, he just follows trends. When JJ Abrams was the new hotness, he was panting to work with him. However, JJ is now the guy that killed Star Wars, so Ellison might not be too keen on him at this point. The other is a rumor that John Lassetter is going to be CCO of Paramount. I would take that one with a grain of salt but it is possible.

As long they don't continue doing exactly what they're doing now, there's at least a little hope. I won't say it can't possibly get worse, because of course it can.

Even worse - they were also involved in the development of the last two terminator movies. That speaks for itself

Couldn't cyborgs just connect directly with brain-computer-interface?
They can and do in certain sci-fi settings like the Ghost in the Shell manga. However in an audiovisual medium like TV shows and movies it is much harder to convey that to the computer illiterate producers and normies watching. Masamune Shirow did discuss this subject in a section of his Intron Depot 01 artbook.

The Section 31 trailer looks even worse than I imagined, and I wasn't imagining anything good.
What the fuck is this shit?
I thought the entire premise behind Star Trek was that humanity had evolved to a higher standard of morality. That there was a reason why the Enterprise D didn't have rainbow haired faggots running all over it, acting crude and selfish like a nigger straight out of real life 2024. Now, I haven't seen Discovery (nor am I planning to anytime soon) so I don't know if this presumption fell apart by its timeframe in-universe, but everything in this trailer is so vulgar in comparison, and completely antithetical to the theme of the franchise. Who in their right mind would watch this?

Who is nu-Trek even attempting to cater towards? There's no way it could be succeeding.

We've also got a lower decks trailer.

Fucking night and day. The fact that the only remotely good trek is a cartoon spin-off that leans heavily on rick and morty is more than a little depressing.
