This sort of quiet, paced Star Trek is what I miss. The dinner is one of the best scenes in the movie. From the clash of cultures to Kirk bringing up Hitler when Chang remarks how the Klingons "need breathing room" (complete with Spock giving a WTF look).
I wonder if this phenomenon is caused by all modern treks beginning with Kurtzman trek being such trash that people are forced to look at previous entries with more favorability since they aren't as shit?Sorry, but wtf berenstain universe did I just land in where six isn't usually considered the best (or second to 2) and these are weird takes to dig it
I think that is generally accepted to at least be second to two, but no one ever talks about it. It seems mostly forgotten by the fandom who jizz over Wrath of Khan (Its great, I am just tired of hearing how great it is).Sorry, but wtf berenstain universe did I just land in where six isn't usually considered the best (or second to 2) and these are weird takes to dig it

There's a dedicated TMP fan base out there, mainly out there for the visuals and as I've heard they feel it stays truer to original trek than the rest of the movies. I just think it's a bit of slog with way too much filler that doesn't really advance the story. Although Kirk's flyby of the refit Enterprise is quite nice since Connie refit is best starship. As for favorite movies. Mine goes 6>2>4.None of you brought up I. Shameful display. That kino brought me into Trek. Not my favorite but it's definitely a trip. 6 is amazing really. 5 is hilarious. 4 is my personal favorite. 3 is just kinda there. And 2 is just classic, who doesn't like Kahn?
3 is like a forced sequel. The villain is a bit bland and not having Kirstie Alley play Saavik again didn't feel right.3 is just kinda there.
The length of TMP is it's only sin. Otherwise it's a classic TOS episode on a movie budget. And that is the shit I live for, since TOS is my show. There's a dedicated TMP fan base out there, mainly out there for the visuals and as I've heard they feel it stays truer to original trek than the rest of the movies. 3 just does what it needs to, you get spock back so you can save the whales in 4.3 is like a forced sequel. The villain is a bit bland and not having Kirstie Alley play Saavik again didn't feel right.

If it was a 2 part TV special people would have loved it. It went on way too long because of Roddenberry's fucking autism. On the plus side, the CGI and practical effects were insane when it came out, so at least it was impressive. V'ger is still fucking awesome. That's why it fits into the KINO category. You kinda just have to take it as a period piece. That is my main problem with TMP is that it's just a rehash of an episode of TOS. Its not bad, but it doesn't reach the same highs as 2/6.
reminds me of some of the more unfortunate shots in tokuWhat you didn't like seeing every dude's bulge lmao?
