Forgot the best reason to have Pulaski and it was she didn't take shit from Wesley Crusher. The first and second seasons of TNG are such a trip. Give me Tasha and Dr "Data is a toaster" Pulaski over seasons 6 and 7 any day.

Yeah ENT was supposed to be the diaper moment for the Federation and they still had to shoehorn in Data.Earth-Romulan War arc and Federation founding arc when?
Exactly. By the immediate pre-TNG era they would have been so gutted by lack of interest and investment from Starfleet command and the Federation gubmint as a whole, not to mention aggressively restrained by regulation and marginalised due to their role being taboo in and of itself to the societal dogma that the galaxy is a wholesome eternal utopia, that they are not only able to do jack shit within the system but they have been functionally forgotten to all save a handful of mostly retired Admirals and a small number of random officials tasked with keeping them mothballed. This would then force them to work outside of Federation/Starfleet and start collecting assets and running operations entirely under their own control on the down low, probably working with Klingon Intelligence and also against/around the Romulans, perhaps even with some Iran/Contra style shit where they have some arrangement with the Ferengi to launder funds so they can build up their ultra high tech bullshit monopoly. Now see, a GOOD section 31 series would have taken place in that era. It would have looked at them dealing with the bluegill threat and when that gets resolved, it shakes them up so much they go off the rails to become what we know of in DS9.

Not bad. I was going to simplify it even more. Besides the wind down you point out, also have the bluegill threat actively work against them. From that, Sec31 believes that they must escape from any oversight and never be bothered by Starfleet higher ups again, and from that justifiable reaction is how they start spiraling out of control - like you propose.Exactly. Diana Mulder was literally "the babe" role in TWO o.g. episodes. Return to tomorrow and Is there no truth in beauty. Also searching for images of Pulaski made me realise how unreasonably old timey hot her actress was...dang between her and Kai Winn old trek was good eatin for GilfChads

Why would you do that? Peter Weller was great in the last ever episode that definitely wasn't followed by anything else.Hell, the last episode of Enterprise can be scrapped too while we're at it,
Whoa, mama!Diana Mulder was literally "the babe" role in TWO o.g. episodes. Return to tomorrow and Is there no truth in beauty.

It's a man, baby.Would not (hardest fuckin no possible both physically and in terms of raw insufferability...also whoever came up with the notion asian women always age gracefully should be flogged)
At least she isn't as fuck-ugly as Sandra Oh.Milchelle Yeoh did age gracefully. The problem is she was always ugly.
Yeah....I actually feel kinda bad saying it (which in and of itself feels fuckin weird for me given the shit I usually throw at people) but she looks virtually unchanged from when I first saw her in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and this is not intended as a complimentMilchelle Yeoh did age gracefully. The problem is she was always ugly.
Lwaxana is the superior Betazoid. I always loved how she could throw Picard off his stride even more than Q.Would (god help me I should never have started making this list...never gonna live my lust for 1960s granny ass down)
Indeed....though again shame about the whole...ya knowLwaxana is the superior Betazoid. I always loved how she could throw Picard off his stride even more than Q.

Data really fucked over O'Brien by talking her into going through with the wedding. He could have gotten with that Cardie woman engineer instead.Speaking of O'Brien's yellow dog of a (temporarilly underage) wife, I do find it amusing how Keiko seems to be considered one of the most unattractive female characters in old trek by sheer virtue of condensed nagging harridan vibe.
"But William...Shatner....Talked like...this and fucked green alien babes every episode!" - Typical SNW writer. The William Shatner character is treated like shit. No respect.
This was super jarring they straight up copy pasted the TNG holodeck layout. Not sure if that's meant to be a member berry of just straight up laziness or what. The latest Strange New Worlds was possibly the worst episode of Star Trek I have seen in living memory. The show is now, "Spock fucks." The episode was so fucking bad. I have enjoyed the show but there was NOTHING redeeming about this episode. It was so badly written and uninteresting.
It also was clearly written by people who aren't star trek fans. It's shipping of characters. It's a retarded murder mystery holodeck plot that is so bad they write into the script that the holodeck keeps changing the mystery. It's an episode that is meant to be fun? Or funny? Yet never is. There was possibly one line that was amusing.
There's also a aspect to it that is shitting all over TOS. It's like a homage by people who don't appreciate it and doing the whole, "isn't that shit." if anyone watched that shitty Wandervision show, that did old sitcom tributes. It does that with old TOS and makes the same mistakes. It forgets they were good and treats them as if they were just a pile of shit. The William Shatner character is treated like shit. No respect.
The episode was absolute garbage.
