Also, please don't ruin the pah-wraiths if that's the direction they are going in with those Vezda-pah things.
The Nu-Trek people are trying to see how much they can fuck with DS9 before Avery Brooks flies in on a piano, scatting about Paul Robeson and striking them down with his transcendent HNIC powers.

So I found the latest episode of SNW to be a solid star trek episode. I wish they would chill out on all the lame CW level relationship stuff though. And good riddance to that younger black nurse guy, awful actor. Also, please don't ruin the pah-wraiths if that's the direction they are going in with those Vezda-pah things.
The old female engineers speech at the end was pretty good, until they decided to play it as a joke. LET YOUR SHOW BE SERIOUS FOR A MINUTE. Fuck. Why bother introducing a new antagonist when your show only has six more episodes this season and a six episode fourth season? SNW has little glimpses of a real Star Trek and then buries them under relationship bullshit and Whedonesque humor.

It doesn't help that they put the Gorn in hibernation so they can be ready for "Arena", Discovery already spent two seasons on the Klingons, and nobody even knows what the Romulans look like yet.

Who the hell can they even use at this point?

Wait, when did the Bajoran occupation start? Did the Federation even know they exist during the TOS era?
The Bajoran occupation took fifty years, which is like a minute in sci-fi time. Meanwhile, the Federation’s big fight with Cardassia was the most recent war by the time of TNG.
"Think of it... Five years ago, no one had ever heard of Bajor or Deep Space Nine, and now... all our hopes rest here." - Gowron, "By Inferno's Light"
Ro Laren signed up with the Academy... before the occupation finally wrapped or after? I've got some brain fog there.

Watching the TNG episode that introduces her after watching DS9 makes Riker look incredibly racist for making her take off her earring. She joined Starfleet during the occupation.
Not necessarily. It was a time when the Feds really didn't understand the Bajorans and their religious zealotry coupled with outright terrorism and their ways.

All Riker knew of Ro Laren when they met was that she was a shit stirring brig bunny -- she hadn't earned the respect and privilege to wear her earring.

"If you tink you can walk around on mae ship, wearing dat earring, witout kissing my kok... heheheh, you are dead wrong."

Meanwhile, you got Wolf wearing a big-ass sling for a sword or something, Troi and Wesley right on the bridge like it’s casual Friday.... Starfleet fashion police have weird priorities.
