Star Trek - Space: The Final Frontier

Cut to Picard 20 years later and Seven is pounding Jack Daniels like it’s Ensure.

There's another VR game that just got announced. It's a horror game where your playing as a Vulcan fighting sci Fi zombies on a defiant class ship. You get to nerve pinch zombies and use your alien resistance to the infection to solve puzzles.

It looks cool, just kinda far out for Trek.
NGL, I don't... hate the idea.

One of the advantages of having a really diverse crew of different species on a ship would be that should be nearly impossible for an infection to cripple to crew because so many differing biologies.

Yes of course the shows didn't always remember this. Like the DS9 episode where the crew gets infected until it's just Odo & Quark left. (Or the TNG one where EVEN THE ROBOT was infected.)

So leaning into that idea... there's a lot of things you could do with that. It would be even more interesting in something like a pandemic-style game where the alien species you pick has different strengths and weaknesses against whatever infection you're fighting.

Wasn't there one game all about fighting the Borg? Think Linkara talked about it one time.
You mean the game, Star Trek: Borg?

Also I found this.

I'd personally prefer a game all about forging and maintaining alliances between different races, maybe set during Enterprise while the Federation is being formed.
Birth of the Federation?

okay okay
let's try to think of a trek game that HASNT been done already
what about wireframe arcade sty- shit
Dude, try to think of a star trek BOARD GAME that hasn't been done already.

There were 2 deck builders released just this month.

(I do feel weird about 2e bringing the Delta factions into the game. But I don't know if anyone cares about me ranting about that...)

The fact that they only ever brought up the Dominion War on Voyager like twice was always just exhausting to me

I did always think it was strange, one of the biggest conflicts the galaxy has ever seen, hundreds of millions dead, yet nary a whisper of it on the show. Especially strange as they have Maquis on board and they were pretty much exterminated by the Dominion. It’s been a while since I’ve watched Voyager, does Eddington even get a mention?

I never thought Seven of Nine was attractive at all. Voyager adding this character always felt like something of a shark-jumping moment to me but, then again, I never liked Voyager.
Ahh, more of a Janeway fan I see, nothing wrong with like a tire with a little less tread left.

No, the Maquis on Voyager were guests you only saw once and then never again. Keith Szarabajka... could slot in with the ten other Bajoran psychos screaming about prophecy.

Obvs you don’t wanna crossover too hard with DS9 or TNG because then people start asking questions like “wait, are these even different ships?” But at the same time, it’s funny that the Federation vs Maquis feud instantly chilled out. They even tried the “let’s manufacture some dissent” storyline with Seska, and it bombed like the Hindenberg so the producers were like, “fuck that, no more drama, everyone’s family now.”

I read an interesting post which speculates that ENT Vulcans were coded as these pussy EU strawmen who wagged their fingers at Bush but then hid behind NATO when things got dicey. Which is unfortunate, since it nuked the whole arc of Vulcan being integrated into the Federation. So what you end up with is this irony where VOY refused to make the crew fight when fans actually wanted it, and then when fans expected reconciliation, the ENT writers just cranked up the emnity.:story:

In my opinion, Jeri Ryan looks like a cock-eyed fish. I'm not telling you or anyone else they are wrong for thinking she's hot, but it's not my bag.
For me it's the haircut. It's frustrating, they have this hot woman and give her that god awful haircut. What a fucking waste that is.

Like, nani?
Yeah I like older women too but the way some of these posters make it their entire identity? Touch some fucking grass.

Jesus wept. Seven of Nine’s hair. It’s just a sci-fi French twist. Same as Janice Rand’s goofy beehive. If your biggest gripe about Seven of Nine is her hair, you are absolutely taking the piss.

Here's some VR demo footage.

Design wise it looks really cool and they did their homework on the Defiant class. Everything looks period accurate and proper star trek. The coolest moment is opening up the Jeffreys tube and seeing how scary it looks in the dark. Plot looks interesting and factors in obsidian order remnants. The ship was transporting a cardasssian criminal with suspicions that one of the crew is a traitor before all hell mysteriously broke loose. Rather like how the infection is more of a plant/fungal like growth that's also effecting the ship. The Vulcan main character seems like he's got a shady past and isn't entirely stable ( He has to meditate semi frequently to overcome Trauma, I'm assuming this is the save system) . The look and design of nerve pinching/ mind melding people looks really cool. There appears to be some degree of dialogue choices.

Negatives wise the game looks early in development because none of the sounds are correct and the phaser effect looks like crap. The phaser in general seems lame because it has to be charged up at stations when used too much. Apparently it loses it's battery Everytime you set it to kill. Although I did like that the stun is an emergency use that momentarily stops a zombie at the cost of alerting others nearby. Also the captain chick sounds amateur hour.

I felt the same way about Janeway, to be honest. They didn't need to give her the 90's Karen from HR haircut.
I always wondered if the short hair it was some attempt to keep up to a military grooming standard in some way.

Anyway, can we all agree that Kira had the best hair? Nana Visitor rocked that short cut look.

It took seven years to figure out how to cut this woman’s hair. First they gave her counterfeit Ensign Ro hair. Then a bargain Grace Jones flattop that looked like she lost a bet. Finally in season six she actually had something decent going on, like this short feathered cut that made sense on her face. I don’t know the exact hairdresser terminology but let’s just call it “doesn’t look like shit.”

And apparently Nana was fighting tooth and nail against that, so we got the asymmetrical bob they force on every woman in the future.

To be fair, Seven had been away from the Collective for a long time, so it makes sense for her metabolism to redevelop.

On the other hand, it's a symptom of Picard trying to reinvent Seven as a badass when her greatest strength was her intelligence.
Did Kirk ever actually sleep with any of his coworkers?
You mean the game, Star Trek: Borg?
No, I think it was called Elite Force.
Sorry, I didn't know that was a thing.

Only in the mirror universe. Otherwise he was a consummate professional who looked but never touched.

No, I think it was called Elite Force.
Voyager's Elite Force had an opening training exercise against the Borg and like... 1 level (maybe 2) but it wasn't heavily borg focused.

That is - to be fair - most Trek games. Whatever you play, very often it will have at least 1 borg level. Even the Armada series.

Sorry, I didn't know that was a thing.

Grab it off the website there. You may enjoy it. If it's not precisely what you want (even with all the mods available), we can probably find something that would be.
