It seems like every series of Berman Trek had an episode misunderstanding evolution.Remember when Archer let a species go extinct because the writers (through Phlox) didn't understand how evolution works?
Imagine driving the NX out of the drive way and getting immediately bumped by a fucking D-7... Motherfuckers-Anyway here's another STO screenie
Discovery and the JJ reboots should have had this type of style. Enterprise is like almost 20 years after TNG but it doesn't look more modern or futuristic. It makes sense for Voyager to look more modern because that's the Federation after the Borg encounter which I'm sure made them all innovate their tech in many ways,I think it had sovl.

It looks like a post-2010 tv sci-fi show. Every post-2010 tv sci-fi show.Discovery and the JJ reboots should have had this type of style. When TNG aired, the bridge of the Enterprise was meant to show us a futuristic approach of most of the tech of the late 80s, which is funny because many of the 80s tech looked like 60s TOS. The Enterprise E just removes the comfy design of the D because these are now more war-ish ships, but they still look comfortable (also, the lighting changes because they moved from tv to movies, but whatever). Discovery is just... artificial.
Eurofags do that. This post oozes verisimilitude, but what kind of lunatic puts "-ies" after a numeral?
The Akiraprise was a fundamental problem with the series world building. It's just too advanced looking even compared TMP era ships, and it's hard to see how TOS came from this. I do think the Drexler NX refit would have been pretty boss as the crew charged into the Romulan War.
The future is Formica.I always loved how they just took a tiny piece of the Enterprise, as if they were saying "We've already assimilated a lot today, but we can assimilate a little more.Worf did describe the Borg cutting beam as "some kind of laser beam", but yeah, the Borg tractor beam was able to disable the ships shields before carving out that circle in the saucer (one of my favorite miniature shots in TNG).

One sci-fi movie that freaked me out was Zathura, AKA, Space Jumanji.Mars Attacks! fucked me up as a kid. Michael J. Fox gets turned into a glowing skeleton like 20 minutes in.

I'm not a fan of Enterprise, but the set designs are where the show exels at. I love how the Enterprise is a mixture of classic Star Trek tech and modern NASA tech.Starfleet is small, the NX-01 is often only equal (at best) to other ships if not inferior, and the tech you see on the ship is just so early 2000s sci-fi.
There's an easy way to bring Jonathan Frakes back without the Holodeck nonsense: Have Chef be Riker's ancestor who looks just like him.The finale was just bullshit fanfiction made by the holodeck because Geordie got his cock stuck in one of the panels.
Love it or hate it, Enterprise was ground zero for all the prequels in modern Star Trek, like the Abrams films, Discovery, and Strange New Worlds.I just don't like the going back to Pre-kirk thing. It doesn't look like Star Trek.
Don't forget how that somehow led to the creation of the Prime Directive.Remember when Archer let a species go extinct because the writers (through Phlox) didn't understand how evolution works?
Battlestar Formica? Also, the idea that to make it more advanced for war you have to make it look older. The future is Formica.

To be fair.... that happens IRL. The "new" thing could look older for a matter of practicality. Like, I can imagine the designers thinking the NX design was good, and future engineers realizing they need to simplify it because the looks ain't making it function as expected.
It helps to remember that the whole show was a mediocre historical holo-drama that Riker liked to watch when he was feeling down and needed something comfy. A 24th century version of a UPN show. It's retelling of events should be taken as apocryphal and replaced with your head canon as appropriate.ENT is just broken. You'd have to reboot the whole thing. Drop the NX-01, drop the time war guy, drop Mayweather, drop Reed, probably drop Archer too. (The writers thought about killing Bakula at one point.) Replace him with Trip as captain. At that point it's fixed.
The writing on those first two seasons was shockingly bad. Somehow even worse than early seasons of Voyager. It would get better in seasons 3-4, but man, that episode alone soured me on the whole show. So cringe and retarded that when it first aired I just stopped watching any Star Trek for several years out of disgust.Don't forget how that somehow led to the creation of the Prime Directive.
You ever see something that just bothers you on a fundamental level that you really don't get? Ya that's the NX refit for me, I think it's the way the saucer section looks completely out of place and way too thick for the secondary hull. I'm glad we didn't ever see that version on screen.View attachment 8289447
I heard the writers wanted to retrofit the NX-01 with ceramic armor so it looks more like the Constitution class. Has any Star Trek EVER done that? Just swapped out the ship because it was embarrassing? Also, the idea that to make it more advanced for war you have to make it look older. The future is Formica.

ENT gets rinsed by VOY on its best day.The writing on those first two seasons was shockingly bad. Somehow even worse than early seasons of Voyager.
The NX-01 was a based little ship. I think the opposite. It looks fucking old. It's grey. Doesn't even have shields. TOS Enterprise is magical by comparison- there are points in TOS where they beam through a planet to get to a cave or chamber. Meanwhile the NX-01 has a transporter that barely works half the time. I think Enterprise works as is and just needed more seasons and that promised refit.View attachment 8289447

The saucer section had to have almost everything in it much like the Miranda class. Secondly the NX series were test beds for incorporating new concepts, technologies, and seeing how to and how not to implement them. So the ENT and others coming out looking "out of place" is something to expect. Still the NX class was eventually succeeded by the Daedalus class. You ever see something that just bothers you on a fundamental level that you really don't get? I didn't know this until kinda recently, but Jumanji and Zathura are actually in the same universe. The movies dropped the connection for some reason but in the books both board games exist simultaneously. One sci-fi movie that freaked me out was Zathura, AKA, Space Jumanji.
ENT was taken behind the shed and shot in the back of the head just as it was getting good, that's the shitty part. If it was just season 1-level bad all the way through then whatever it's just a shit show, no great loss, but they capped it right as it was starting to show its potential and become good.ENT gets rinsed by VOY on its best day.
I'm with @Phillip Green, it was just a catastrophic combo of bad writing and leads who were so miscast, it felt comedic.

Timestamped.Well, as a former soldier myself I can say you'd be surprised what gets said in a foxhole
If you like watching minorities and fat women in space, sure. Real Star Trek died in 2005.Is Star Trek still a thing?
