many moons ago, the elk, and the buffalo, were pursued by their enemies, buffalo said to elk "let us reroute the plasma flow directly into the nacelles", and elk saw the wisdom in this plan, comparing it to a cork popping from a bottle

the Chakotay shipping was just wrong. It would be like Riker actually trying to fuck Data's daughter in that one episode. Gross.
By that point, I don't think so. This was after the other borg kids came on and she showed she could have an adult maternal/mentor role. It was also after the "My Fair Lady" episode with the EMH. Her having a relationship felt like a natural progression for the character.

The idea of Riker trying to hit on a 1-day-old girl sounds like one of those “TNG out of context” Twitter jokes, so I had to go back and check. Nope. It’s real. Riker deploys one of his patented smirk-and-leans on Lal. He just saw a human shaped silhouette and thought "permission to board."

But Data has Riker’s horndog dossier memorized. His "farmer shooting at coyotes" subroutine kicks in: "Commander, I am aware of your historical pattern of being a sex pest." Will's reputation precedes him even among androids. :story:
It's that synth pan flute, right?
I hear he plays a mean skin flute.

To be fair, Seven wasn't a child, she was an adult woman with some basic knowledge of things, likely the knowledge of pretty much every species they assimilated, even if she didn't have the actual experiences. It's not like she was just created right there. She's been alive for about 30 years. Dating her would be like dating a nun, adult one, who has abandoned her vows and she's now free to have a guy. It might be weird, but there is nothing illegal or unethical about it.

Data's daughter was not just days older, which I dn't think it was a big issue. Minuet was hours old, but she was programmed as a mature woman. Lal was also given the body of a teenager, and she acted as one. Data was older than 20 when he had sex with Tasha.

The retarded black fat woman from Academy... I just can't... I don't know what they were thinking.

I think what happened is Mary Wiseman lost weight and a producer was like, “Whoa whoa whoa, we’re under quota. Get me a fat person NOW."

Somebody else told me to watch Wentworth, the Australian women’s prison show, and yes there are fat lesbians on it, but they look like real inmates. The thing with Nu Trek and modern Star Wars is that everyone looks like they’re from now. They look like your co-workers, but not in a good way. The conversations at my job never stray far from "what did you do on vacation".

The obsession current culture has with fat black women it's something that I hope will be studied in the future. They're not attractive, they're not funny, they don't offer anything culturally relevant, they're unhealthy, they're rude, most of them have zero talent. Yet, all shows, movies, comics, games, whatever are plagued with them as the face of the media they're part of.

I think I preferred the 2000's, networks were just firing sitcoms with fat women out of a cannon like Oprah's t-shirt gun.

I know people have been discussing it but while I have not partaken of any of the more recent offering in this increasingly terrible franchise, the promo-material for Starfleet Academy Heights or whatever, especially that promo pic of the cast all laying down on the grass together, taken from above is giving me the vibe of one of those overblown "young adults with problems" prime time soaps of the sort that would have lasted a season or so on the CW network or some now defunct Aughties-era cable channel.
