I forget, but didn't they sorta shuffle that back away after a little while?
that thing WISHES it was the power padView attachment 8568514
Yeah they drag out the dumb little NES power pad for diplomacy twice, once in “Doctor Bashir, I Presume” and then again in “For the Uniform”.
There’s a very funny quote from the VFX guy over on Memory Alpha where he's bitching that Gene invented the viewscreen for a reason, namely that it's cheaper, and that they were trying to over-complicate things.
The whole Voyager saga is insane, "...yeah we met Leonardo da Vinci, he was a fat Welsh guy"lol, watching that episode where Neelix bails on Voyager for some Thalaxian cunny and I'm amused that Naomi is telling that kid about Tuvix. Did you tell him what happened to Tuvix? How'd he begged not to be murdered?
"You'd think I made up a story like that?"
That could also be the reason why she left TNG and felt it wasn't up to her requirements. Patrick Stewart didn't have other options and I think he was living in his car. It could be the same for other people from the show. It wasn't going to happen to her, though. The only reason she got acting gigs is her connections.
I always assumed the holo-communicator was added to make the confrontation between Sisko and Eddington more engaging than if it was just Eddington on the viewscreen. Sisko and Eddington were basically in the same room right as war crimes were being committed. They thought it was a cool thing to add to Trek on paper but the final product was cringe and didn't feel like Trek. That's why it's only used in a couple of episodes.
Yeah, she really did think she was going to have a big movie career. But after a few reasonably high profile roles (Pet Sematary the only one I can recall off the top of my head), she ended up stuck in low-budget B movies and bit TV roles for the rest of her career. There's a reason she jumped at every chance to play Sela she could. That could also be the reason why she left TNG and felt it wasn't up to her requirements. She had a recurring arc in season two of Lois & Clark. She plays this extremely committed henchwoman who attempts to resurrect Lex Luthor. She also briefly tries (and fails) to seduce Leslie Jordan after he accidentally gets Superman’s powers.Yeah, she really did think she was going to have a big movie career. Neelix as guide / ambassador to the Delta Quadrant stopped making sense after that map episode. Neelix as morale officer still worked, as he was the Snarf. Besides that was Neelix the cook, which helped with hydroponics* as he was familiar with local foodstuffs, but this was obviated the further they went, since they started growing all the crops Neelix knew. One day the writers realized on a show about a long journey home that Neelix would be 70,000 lightyears from his home and people. Talaxians that far out was a deus ex machina. They're as warp capable as the Kazon, so that colony took the slow route. Neelix probably refreshed their gene pool, like a Norwegian moving to Iceland.lol, watching that episode where Neelix bails on Voyager for some Thalaxian cunny and I'm amused that Naomi is telling that kid about Tuvix. Gross. I've only heard of pedo circles using that word.cunny
John Rhys-Davies was marvelous. And that da Vinci was a holodeck creation. The whole Voyager saga is insane, "...yeah we met Leonardo da Vinci, he was a fat Welsh guy"

It’s like when your friend tries to explain a dream but it’s canon.
Finding Amelia Earhart and Earth's dinosaurs surely top a holodeck adventure. The whole Voyager saga is insane, "...yeah we met Leonardo da Vinci, he was a fat Welsh guy"

Wait, the funny axe guy was in Voyager?John Rhys-Davies was marvelous. And that da Vinci was a holodeck creation.
Or the roots of Native American culture.Finding Amelia Earhart and Earth's dinosaurs surely top a holodeck adventure.
Yeah, I don't mean to shit on her career. She's been a working actress for over 40 years, and you can see from her IMDB that she's continued to get gigs of various quality up until the last couple years. These just weren't at the level of celebrity she wanted when she fled Stage 9 for greener pastures. She had a recurring arc in season two of Lois & Clark. She plays this extremely committed henchwoman who attempts to resurrect Lex Luthor. She also briefly tries (and fails) to seduce Leslie Jordan after he accidentally gets Superman’s powers.
Speaking of careers, you have to remember that funny axe guy was in almost everything, especially in the 90's and early 00's. Dude had a work ethic.Wait, the funny axe guy was in Voyager?
I liked the dinosaur episode.Finding Amelia Earhart and Earth's dinosaurs surely top a holodeck adventure.
I know he was in Sliders and SpongeBob.Speaking of careers, you have to remember that funny axe guy was in almost everything, especially in the 90's and early 00's. Dude had a work ethic.
I can believe the Natives needed alien intervention to find culture. Just a shame they didn't stop at Africa along the way, maybe they wrote it off as a lost cause.Or the roots of Native American culture.
He made Sliders work. Once they got rid of him, the show takes a significant, noticeable downturn.I know he was in Sliders and SpongeBob.
Movies, TV, Video games, my man was everywhere. Bond movies, Indiana Jones, the Batman cartoon, Animaniacs, the Wing Commander games. Basically anything where you needed a budget Brian Blessed. I'm kind of shocked his only Trek appearance was on Voyager.I know he was in Sliders and SpongeBob.
