I was really hoping that Strange New Worlds would turn out alright. I loved most of season 1 (fite me IRL), forgot all of season 2... but holy shit the 3rd is just unwatchable. I'm fine with a bit of woke faggotry but there's no excuse for terrible writing, plus the actors seem like they just want it to be over. Grim
They cast Thomas Jane as McCoy and you know that’s not a cameo, that’s planting a spin-off landmine for later.

I’m so tired of this, man. Star Trek is franchising like one of those Russian nesting dolls.

local college radio's sunday soundtracks show did a bunch of trek today, I caught the tail end of the suites for the three TNG movies, then he played some tracks from Starfleet Academy (the game) then SA (the series/act)
usually the only trek I catch on the air is when they play some Vic on the jazz station

I’ve seen a few Gidget movies. Can’t really remember the plots.... She’s a middle-class girl who loves surfing, so she asks her dad to buy her a surfboard?

And she falls in love with this guy Moondoggie (Darren). He thinks she’s too young, doesn’t take her seriously. But then he starts to love her too.

He also has a good voice and sings a few songs about Gidget.

Apparently, the various strikes are to blame... I really don't know how that necessarily translates to most of the episodes being throw away filler. While I think the show can recover, the fact that the preview of the next season is a photo of muppets gives me concern. As I have stated previously, the writers for some reason are now trying to make it a Star Trek version of Community.

I just want to get shitfaced at Quark's and lose all my money in space-roulette, then start a barfight with Morn and fuck Dax in that little storage space Quark has.

Here's a thought: why doesn't Starfleet deploy Risians as moral officers?
According to the wiki, Ron Moore wanted the USS Sutherland to basically be a floating Ibiza, every time they dock at Deep Space Nine it’s supposed to be like Spring Break.

All it really amounted to is this one-off gag with a fire-twirler who shows up to the bachelorette party.

They should have done that once every two seasons with a different theme each time. I don't mind space hedonism all that much. It's Star Trek, partying and fucking is always implied on some level.
