How cloaking works is more mysterious...it must be based more on magic then science as I can't come up with a reason for why you can't cloak and have shields active.
There's obviously no real scientific reason, but it does seem like whenever an enemy ship powers weapons or raises shields, it's instantly called out by Sulu/Data/Whoever. So perhaps the radiation from weapons and shields is just too much of a dead giveaway.

Plenty of stuff contradicts this, but whatever. Star Trek's technology is on the whole inconsistent, but it's just consistent enough to where nerds can argue about this stuff. A somewhat unfortunate middleground.

Terry Farrell was more commanding hot. Nicole de Boer was a cutie pie. They were both hot, but in different ways.

De Boer was more endearing, but she also got better direction.
"Commanding hot" sounds an awful lot like Dommy Mommy. Only beta simps want a dommy mommy. The true Chad choice is the QT3.14 tomboy gf which is the best you could get out of a Trill since I doubt anyone of their race could ever be tradwife material.

Which race produces the best tradwife? Bajorans, Cardassians, Ferengi?

I'm torn between the blue barrel and Kurtzman...

Klingons.

Did you see what the mother-in-law put Jadzia through?
Divorce is too easy in Klingon culture and their females are too domineering. They are higher in the rankings than Human females who are mostly sluts in the 24th century. Vulcans are up there for most trad but I'd go with a Bajoran woman from a remote province. Bajorans have a good combination of adherence to tradition and overall cuteness. I wish we got more about Andorian culture because I live somewhere where it's winter 8 months out of the year so I wouldn't mind living on Andor with a blue cutie.

Murdering the spouse is too easy? Then you shouldn't be such a pussy.

If you can't recite the love poetry while the furniture is being thrown around, maybe you're not ready for a trad wife.

I was thinking more of the divorce shown in The House of Quark episode where the Klingon cutie slaps Quark and spits on him.

She practically ran the house. Was clearly a Karen Klingon. (Klingren?) Women's lib Klingon. Not traditional at all.

(nah but as fun as those episodes are, it is amusing to wonder how much is legit and how much is a troll put on for Quark. "Let's tell the stupid Ferengi anything, he'll believe it.")
This is something that's been on my mind for a while now; how do gay Klingons court each other?
They have problems in every species.

Starfleet Academy and it's description of the episode where everyone swaps races lead me to actually bother to look up stuff from
It was Strange New Worlds ['Four and a Half Vulcans'], not Academy.
Previous [brief] discussion began here:

Traditional women care about tradition, so they make sure tradition is traditioned. Cultures where the women sit there and take it are incel cultures, like Islam. However, we're going into politisperg territory now, and I'm sure Syrup will give me an Easter Island head for even pointing this out.

You're about to hear the most beautiful sound in the galaxy.

Found this mystery on reddit and figured the best detectives on the internet should have a crack at it. Redditors were too concerned about laughing at a war to have any working theories

I actually posted that video this morning in the Iran thread:

It's a guy wearing a wind breaker while helping rescue workers in Karaj, Iran after an Israeli airstrike on a railroad bridge.

I took a closer look at the screenshot and Metro UK is using the watermarked version of the video. Yet again, I'm a better reporter than the legacy media.

The RLM story is kind of worse than you'd think. There are third-string Youtubers who pull in more than 40,000 views with their videos.

And this is Star Trek for fuck's sake. Trek used to have a fanbase that was the definition of hardcore. I guess 'used to' is the appropriate term there. They may still be out there, but they're sure as fuck not watching Kurtzmann-Trek.
The idea that ST is some sort of niche franchise for nerds died by the time of TNG. How many people watched Best of Both worlds? Millions. Google estimates it could have been 20M, with 11M being the average TNG audience.

It was never "us" fans who believe in gatekeeping the show. People were happy when most fans showed up, even those you needed to explain some of the science. The reason it's fallen so hard is because they did that. Those 400K people are the "true believers" of the current approach of the series, such as how anything remotely right of Stalin is literally Hitler.

Spock's betrothed cheated on him and found "logical" excuses to get rid of their engagement. I think Klingon women would be a bit more honest and stay with you out of pure honor to the marriage, specially considering how tribalist their society is.

True. HOWEVER, what if Spock's woman cheated because she didn't want no filthy halfbreed for a husband?
