For me the Calgary Comic Expo where Stewart without any other TNG crewmembers was when the mask started slipping off, weird to think since then Patrick Steward was revealed to be a mix of someone who care more about talking about his theater career than any roles that made him famous and a chav
Hey i'm trying to find a way to connect the 24th century (TNG, DS9 and VOY) show with the 25th (STO) with the least shit from the movies, i think all that remain from the TNG movies are the scenes that lead to first contact and (unfortunately) the Supernona from 2009 (i kept these because ENT is canon in STO and the Supernova leads to the better of the four races (Well i haven't played the Jem'Hadar so take it with some salt) exlusive storyline, the Romulans)

"Here's a truckload of cash. Go make some shitty sci-fi with your friends, and then talk shit about the people watching it."

Is there a single one of you that would turn down that offer?
I would cheat the system, take the Truckload of cash to make a Shitty Sci-fi..and then make a good one instead.

I'm not sure if anyone brought this up, but this was one terrifying ass scene:

"What we got back, didn't live long... fortunately"

Scott Adams wrote an essay of how IRL people would use ST transporters back in the 90ies. Suffice to say "tranporter accidents" would be an extremely common form of death and injury. He had zero faith his fellow man or himself at the controls wouldn't (un)intentionally FO anyone on the pad for reasons.

Edit: It is published in one of his Dilbert books but I do not know which one.

Never mind that they just obliterate you from existence, transmit a stream of information that represents you somewhere that might or might not get there, then recreate a copy which for all you know is a soulless simulacrum. You're never getting me into one of those contraptions.

After all the crap the Enterprise D went through with its tranporter malfunctions plus picking up Thomas Riker and Scotty; it wouldn't have been a stretch for Voyager to technobabble a transporter solution to save all of three of them.
Let's face it Voyager's crew hated Tuvix because it meant that they would have Nelix around more often rather than imprisoned in the kitchen.

I said it is possible, I didn't said they should. As to why the Voyager kept Nelix instead of manning up to kick him off the ship, replicate some effing cookbooks & cookware and/or the barter, borrow, cheat or steal the necessary components to keep the replicators online is beyond me.*

*In universe explanation.

Neelix was annoying at times (MOST of the time, actually) but he was often a useful fucker. Knew about all sorts of Gamma Quadrant shit. Plus so long as he was on board they got Kes there as eye candy.... until she ascended to godhood... and then came back with energy creature alzheimer's to stab everyone on Voyager in the back by selling them to organ harvesting freaks.

Gamma quad was DS9. Voyager was delta.

There was a (pretty good) episode where Neelix realized that had traveled so far he was no longer useful as a guide. Of course Voyager being Voyager that fact would get forgotten a lot.

His character improved a lot once Kes dumped him and he became the Voyager crew's doormat.

This is for referring to Kes as "eye candy"

Edit: link -- I knew she got arrested from the indecent exposure incident, but I had no idea she had multiple subsequent arrests :story:

Jennifer Lien, who played medical assistant “Kes” in the first three seasons of Star Trek: Voyager, was arrested in Kingston for driving on a revoked license. This comes less than two weeks after she was arrested on the same charge.

A Roane County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop just after noon after spotting the car driving with no tags visible.

After initiating the stop, Lien was able to produce her license, registration and proof of insurance but was arrested after a computer check showed she had her licensed revoked for a previous DUI.

Lien was also arrested on March 2 for the same charge.

The Roane County resident and former actress was arrested in 2015 for indecent exposure. She was charged with two counts of exposing herself to children under the age of 13 but later had the charges dismissed after paying restitution.

Wow. Even Nichelle Nichols looks great for her age and she's eighty seven, with a touch of dementia. She's still recognizable as Lt Uhura while Lien barely resembles Kes due to that bloaty alkie face.
