I googled it, he lives in LA somewhere. Just start attacking that general area. You'll get him eventually.Because nobody's given any robots his address! (yet)
Drop a nuke onto LA and... no, he'll fucking survive itI googled it, he lives in LA somewhere. Just start attacking that general area. You'll get him eventually.
Some of you Kiwis are alright. Don't come to LA tomorrow.

That doesn't mean it's a bad idea...Drop a nuke onto LA and... no, he'll fucking survive it
At least it was still way more reasonable than Picard arguing that the Crystalline Entity should be allowed to wipe out billions of sentient lifeforms because muh whales eat squids or some shit. Granny did literally nothing wrong when she vibrated it to death. You know what always bugged me? How fucking moralistic DS9 was about why wiping out the Founders was super super bad, you guys! Never mind that they engineered 2 species to be completely subservient to them, never mind that they engineered a fatal flaw in one of those 2 species specifically to keep them in line, never mind the entire planet they damn near genocided with an insidious virus (and how many species they undoubtedly DID genocide in their 8,000 year reign of terror and tyranny in the Gamma Quadrant), never mind that they are a collective that made decisions based on consensus and so the entire species is culpable for their crimes, never mind that their fucking representative outright admitted she would happily destroy the entire Alpha Quadrant just to get Odo back, doing to them what they've done to countless others is WRONG!
Fuck the Founders, I say Section 31 was completely justified protecting the universe from those monsters.
/edit: Another thing, I'm quite miffed that the Stage 9 project was killed. It looked amazing. I guess the closest to a Star Trek ship recreation is the addon to Voyager: Elite Force? Speaking of which, the Mirror Universe Constitution class was a cool setpiece.
What Picard fails to realize is that every animal is entitled to defend itself and it's own from an aggressive predator. And that's what we did. Communicating with it was a fucking pipe dream, a mere possibility that may in fact not have been possible at all.At least it was still way more reasonable than Picard arguing that the Crystalline Entity should be allowed to wipe out billions of sentient lifeforms because muh whales eat squids or some shit. Bridge Crew is VR, right? If I ever get the hardware I might.the irony is they turned around and did the orville, and even got official support iirc.
also try star trek bridge crew if you haven't.
it works without VR, but it's not really the same. it's also bridge only, and more of a social/coop minigame, but boy does it work. first time on the TOS bridge was mindblowing.Bridge Crew is VR, right? If I ever get the hardware I might.
They got support from the Orville guys because those guys are class acts who actually like their fans.
Being on the TOS bridge alone would be worth it.it works without VR, but it's not really the same. it's also bridge only, and more of a social/coop minigame, but boy does it work. first time on the TOS bridge was mindblowing.
That is what makes us the best.https://youtube.com/watch?v=-D2SHNqkjbY"Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes."
Goddamn DS9 was a great show.
God, even deciding on not destroying Godzilla is reasonable. At least he protects a single planet from bigger threats. Plus, one may argue he's actually keeping a balance between nature and man. The crystal entity thing is more like Ghidorah, destroying everything at its path and cannot be reasoned with. What Picard fails to realize is that every animal is entitled to defend itself and it's own from an aggressive predator. And that's what we did. Communicating with it was a fucking pipe dream, a mere possibility that may in fact not have been possible at all.
Imagine if it possessed the intelligence of an amoeba, how the fuck are we even going to make it understand that we want it to stop? What if it doesn't even view us as lifeforms, like V'ger? What if it actively detests us?
Hell, even the idea that the communication seemed to be "working" may just have been the entity mimicking the emission pattern like a cuttlefish mimics colors. It may not have even understood that this was an attempt to communicate, just a curious object doing a curious thing that momentarily caught it's interest.
Killing it was a reasonable course of action because Marr knew we could and how to do it. If the entity had decided not to play nice it could, and would, have killed the entire crew. And with it the only person who knew how to stop the goddamn thing.
Look, maybe I have a soft side for a giant, non-biological being who wants to kill all humans, but don't forget that in the backstory, Lore drew the Crystalline Entity to his colony, so there was precedent in the show that there MIGHT be a chance it could talk. Actually given the way we were shown Lore communicated with it, it seems fair to believe it had some intellect. What Picard fails to realize is that every animal is entitled to defend itself and it's own from an aggressive predator. So basically keep it as a spaceborn attack dog? Kinda like the space amoebas in Stellaris.Look, maybe I have a soft side for a giant, non-biological being who wants to kill all humans, but don't forget that in the backstory, Lore drew the Crystalline Entity to his colony, so there was precedent in the show that there MIGHT be a chance it could talk. And also, that's in keeping with the Trek spirit - if we can communicate, there's a CHANCE at coexistence, and we must take that chance, no matter how slim. Don't be complaining about the show going grimdark and then complain that Picard didn't take the grimdarkest path at the time. For all we know, if we established comms with the CE, it might have been like, "Oh shit! Y'all can talk? Well boy is this embarassing."
Besides, can you imagine if Picard had recruited the thing to join the Federation?
Sisko: "I'm here to take back DS9. [beat] And I brought a friend."
Crystalline Entity flies into view: "Yeeeeehaw! Time to go Pac-Man on these Dominion asses!""
