Why did NuTrek drop off Q btw? To make their setting more "grounded". Because it doesn't look grounded to me!

Huh. Did Jolene Blalock actually do this scene? Hollywood often uses body doubles for this angle.
Because Q isn't in any of the movies and that's all NuTrek writers have ever seen. Why did NuTrek drop off Q btw? To make their setting more "grounded". Because it doesn't look grounded to me!
The Japanese living in CONUS were loyal AF to the U.S.A. while the Japanese living in Hawaii still had a lot of loyalists to the Japanese Empire. Interning the CONUS Japanese and stealing everything they owned while not laying a finger on the Hawaiian Japanese is a massive FU. Given the Japanese Empire loyalists had aided the IJN in the lead up to the attack on Pearl Harbor. But were uninterned due to making up most of the local work force. Not to downplay it, still scummy (even if the US had few options) but it is an apt lesson on how perspective can matter. If your brain can interpret a racist act into one of kindness, it could also interpret innocent acts into racism.
Maybe I'm a closet case, but Jolene doesn't do anything for me.Did Jolene Blalock actually do this scene?
Just to challenge you on some of this: Dr. Selar? Seven is a Vulcan in all but name.Well, "sexy Vulcan" was a dumb concept from the beginning.
Remember how kids in the 60's liked Star Trek even though there were NO regular kid characters? The actor who played Icheb had to flee the set on multiple occasions, to hide his erection. (True story. He talks about it at conventions.)
There's no denying that sex sells, but the addition of Borg Kids always struck me as tone-deaf. They're chasing an adult audience while blatantly trying to cultivate a new audience for the next 30 years of fandom.
Kim Cattral was a hot Vulcan.Just to challenge you on some of this: Dr. Selar showed it can be done. Seven was a Vulcan in all but name. And I'm sure there are other fictional examples.
I think Berman just miscasted the part, as often happened on ENT.
Shame Leonard destroyed her camera.Kim Cattral was a hot Vulcan.
Oh come on, don't you want a kuudere Vulcan waifu?Well, "sexy Vulcan" was a dumb concept from the beginning. Whoever thought of that idea needs to be locked in a cell with Stephen Collins.
And Torres.I agree, Jeri Ryan is hot...but they already had Janeway!
Marvel managed to do the "sexy Borg" look with their character Circuit Breaker. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Circuit_Breaker_(G1)And, unpopular opinion, I thought "sexy Borg" was a dumb idea too. I don't have a problem with T&A, but only TOS was able to pull it off right, IMHO.
