I'll have to re watch it..because I got the impression that it was not about her gender that disqualifed her..but the focus on the fact she was power hungry.
Lester definitely says something that implies women can't be Captains, but she's also nuttier than squirrel shit, so it's debatable whether or not she was being literal.
The fight scene sucked SO HARD. The script called for a coliseum set. Oh, can't have one? Ummm, they have to fight on a TV set. And they were at Vasquez Rocks for desert scenes too. Least creative way of getting around the budget.

I accept this as my head canon. I like the interpretation that she wasn't allowed to be captain because she's nuts as fuck. But her mentally ill mind took that as women can't be captains.
That was also my impresson that Doctor Janet Lester may have said women can't be captains just to really drive home her own victimhood.
That is clearly a case of Lester being 100% batshit crazy.. There is no on the fence about it.

No. I legit consider TNG and Voyager the weaker series. I actually enjoyed Enterprise more than TNG, as blasphemous as that sounds.

I legitimately enjoyed Archer going psycho and Trip was a good character. I try to forget the last two or three episodes of Enterprise ever happened. At the end of the day, TNG has a lot worse episodes than Enterprise did.
Well yeah, seven seasons of mostly boring filler. I think the reason TNG is remembered so fondly is because of nostalgia glasses. Seven seasons, a handful of truly great episodes, and one decent movie out of four.
