Star Wars Expanded Universe Fans/Cultists - I HOPE YOU LIKE STAR WARS AUTISM

Corporate dictated reboot? Why? Was the original Star Wars universe written by a prophet on a mission for world peace or something?
Lucas didn't have high hopes when he created "A New Hope", he considered it to be a hommage to the already declining genre of space opera - basically "Spaceploitation" if you will - and not the start of a multi-billion dollar franchise. He was quite surprised when it became a mega-success.

Update guys. So apparently Matt Wilkins and others are trying to get a "Bring Back the EU" billboard put as close as possible to the LucasFilm headquarters in San Francisco. Yes...they are actually being serious....

As an added bonus, some more autistic EU Facebook posts:

Spoiler: Warning: Cringe Alert
Goodness me - exploiting the dying wish of a child to get what you want is a new kind of autistic and entitled. The fact that post has 19 likes just makes it worse.

Also, in my experience, the people supporting Disney taking over Star Wars are nowhere near as zealous as the EU tards screaming that they want their comics back (even though no-one's taken them away).

To answer this guy's question: Yes. That he wants to exploit a terminally ill child like that does make him an asshole.

I read them in high school, but dropped out when they started to kill off characters. Plus it seemed like it had hit a dead end, just recycling the same basic plot lines, just different authors, with bonus murdering of random characters! Just kinda eh.

Well this made me laugh:

"True fans"
What an entitled faggot.:story:
Hoo boy, there's a lot wrong with this one.

An argument I hear from these people over and over that I find hilarious is the: "Disney only cares about cash!" argument... because it's not like George Lucas was a money-grubbing businessman who was more interested in seeing how many toys he could sell than telling a decent story. If you think the Expanded Universe was started as an artistic endeavour rather than a moneymaking one then you're pretty damn deluded.

Also, this guy hasn't seen the film yet and even a month before release plot details are still rather sketchy. How the fuck does he know they've plagiarized stuff from the Expanded Universe?! Is he psychic, or is he just operating on hearsay?

And it's not like the EU was razed to avoid paying the authors - I don't know how it works in terms of copyright, but I'm pretty sure there was a clause in every EU writer's contract that means the rights to the characters they created are owned by Lucasfilm. The EU was razed so that people like this guy wouldn't throw a shit fit when one of the characters from their precious EU had a cape that was slightly the wrong colour.

And the quality of the figures thing at the end? The autism is strong with this one.

The quality of the figures are so bad, he had to capitalize the word Joke. That's how you know you're dealing with twoo fans

At least some of those are trolls, because it's so obviously an easy way to wind up these autists.

"Work for hire" I believe is the term you are referring to.

Okay, this is not about spergalicious fans, but probably the most absurd move to seperate said fans from their money undertaken by the SW franchise yet:
Shakespeare's Star Wars

Not, it's not a spoof. It is a TRUE and HONEST attempt to recreate 1970s popcorn space opera in 16th century English and iambic pentameter blank verse.

T'is hard to be more autistic than this.

Oh c'mon, that's just a novelty item, it's not comparable to EU spergery. I myself own the original trilogy set of those books (didn't buy them, they were all gifts). I've never read any of them cover to cover but I dip into them for a chuckle every now and then.

Thinking this isn't a spoof is autistic tbh.

This is pretty much borderline off-topic. Dykes...do you want the admins to come barging in here and threatening to close this thread again? :\
