Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Another great female character that sadly Disney shillers think is not as cool as Rey, Clarice Starling.

You know, maybe that's what Iger was after all along. He bought an obscenely pricey franchise, had it run into the ground to drop Disney's price, so it can be bought by Amazon quicker. He'll then live off his absurd fortune made by short-selling Disney Stocks before the expected drop in value and by the huge sum of money paid to him as a goodbye gift from Amazon...

Idk why but Amazon almost never has the Disney blurays when they release. They didn't have Captain Marvel, Infinity War, and Endgame. They had maybe 1 or 2 copies of the very pricey UK editions.

Is Disney not allowed on Amazon or something?

Jeeze, it's still only Thursday, and the hits just keep coming for Disney.
It is rather weird how more and more news controversies keep piling up for Disney one after another this summer.

I would like to know more about this. Given the legends of China giving minimal fucks about the OT I can see how this could happen but it's still an interesting development.
My knowledge on this is limited, but I do know the box office results for the Disney Wars films in China if you wanna know that, and I think I posted some articles like a year ago in this thread relating to China and the whole Ranger Solo thing along with a discussion from a Chinese forum that didn't like Rey. I can try and repost that if you want.

There is something squirrelly between Amazon and Disney. If Amazon has the Disney Blurays, they release them like weeks or months later. It's been going on for a while. But nobody seems to have proof of an exact reason.

More recently only Prime members could order Blurays of Disney movies.

So after Yahoo, Instagram, Forbes and some other shit holes went into overdrive shilling Galaxy's Edge, Disney has now acquired the assistance of TIME Magazine which has put GE in their list of "World's Greatest Places of 2019"... Wow! this doesn't sound paid for or fabricated at all based solely on hype, bribes and what is most likely to attract readers.

In other news, D23 finally unveiled Disney's "BIG SUPER SECRET PROJECT" they wouldn't shut up about which many thought would be something spectacular.
Turns out... Its a Disney+ show about Disney park cast members and employees which is basically an overblown advertisement and their attempt to try and disprove Abigail Disney's claims that the park treats their employees like shit. "We don't mistreat or underpay our employees! We're giving them their own show! See!"

Also from D23, new footage from the Mandalorian came out but I'll post and discuss about that when I have the pics set up. But to sum it up, it looked promising but its basically bait since I already discussed what the show will turn into. Its filled with a lot of nostalgia grabs and familiar sights but previous interviews and summaries for the show already revealed that the old shit will eventually be phased out and replaced with Disney Wars shit as the show moves "forward in time" since it takes place after ROTJ and is mostly about the Rise of the FO through the eyes of a Mandalorian...

So what are the chances that they and shills will run campaigns to get people to see the movie. Prove the neigh sayers wrong, stick it to the racist, sexist incels.
They've done it before, and it worked really well with Black Panther.

Close to one. But I don't see it working too well this time since at this point a lot of people either don't care or just want to see Disney's take die and be forgotten except as a warning.

If memory serves, it's pretty simple: the OT was never released in China, as they were too busy being a backwards, broke, nightmarish communist dictatorship at the time (as one does.) Nowadays, they're a significantly less backwards, somewhat less nightmarish communist dictatorship whose billion-plus-strong citizenry has some disposable income, meaning that everyone and their mother is trying to tap that market. However, Star Wars can't get any purchase because there's no nostalgia for the OT (read: the actually good movies) to hook into.

So what should I discuss? The Mandalorian+D23 or China+SW+Box Office?

But before that, here are some unreleased Lego sets for IX that won't be available until October that are shit but serve as evidence for some of the IX leaks. There's also one for the Mandalorian which has the most info but I'll save that shit for later.

For starters, here is the Resistance Y-Wing for IX. It is mostly identical to the original. One is taken by Zorry Bliss after her own ship gets fucked on the snow planet. It hasn't been given a notable makeover unlike the X-Wing possibly due to wanting this to be a max nostalgia grab. The set comes with Zorry, Poe, BB-8's shitty new sidekick and a "Snowtrooper". It also comes with a new green astromech droid but its not important. It comes with the Y-Wing when its taken by Zorry Bliss.

Here we have Chuck Wendig's self-insert Snap Wexley with his own personal Resistance A-Wing Starfighter™... What makes it unique is that its green. I don't remember if this was in TFA since that movie has nothing unique enough to make it memorable. The set comes with Wendig himself and Connix who is the character played by Carrie Fisher's daughter who is sadly just background filler despite being an infinitely better actress than Rey. I've said this before but Snap has a bigger role in this movie, mainly as the comic relief with his gay slug friend.

Here we have the Pasaana Speeder Chase set. For those who don't know, I've discussed this scene before in detail during one of the leaks for the film, and Pasaana is the new not-Tatooine that's basically the Muslim planet I've mentioned before. The scene is basically after Rey clashes with Kylo Ren but is saved by Poe and Finn on a sand skiff like the one in ROTJ (NOSTALGIA!). The chase involves several skiffs and the shitty treadspeeders (which I've also discussed before which are basically speeders with tank treads on the front) that are used by FO nu-troopers. The set includes a Jet Trooper (which I've also talked about before) and some other assholes we already know. The thing in the back is some mining equipment from the camp the speeders are taken from.

Here is the Kylo Ren Shuttle set. Its an updated version of the one from TFA and TLJ, except its blacker and red now. I've only discussed the ship once before and that its basically Kylo's own version of the Emperor's Lambda-class escort shuttle, but edgier and its called an "Upsilon class". The scene depicted in the set is from the battle over muslim planet before Kylo and Rey's face off on the planet.

Finally here is the Falcon set. As seen here, the Falcon has the round dish again but its supposedly been "upgraded" to make it look more distinct, probably to pay George less maybe.

Strangely there's also another new set accompanying them which is of Kenobi turning off the tractor beam. That would honestly be a possible spot for Rey and Kylo to travel to if their little time warps are a thing which them fighting on a bridge or area in the Death Star where Kenobi can be seen from the background.

I raise this point with Star Trek: Beyond, which also was a third movie, and which also came after a trash fire of a big film for the series (TLJ only had Ragu Juan, which was just mediocre before it). The film was actually quite good and the closest spiritually to Trek out of the lot... it flopped however due to Into Wrath of Khan being so bad (and made by JarJar fun fact).

Star Trek Beyond was good in that it was utterly forgettable which is an improvement over "generic scifi action movie with extra lens flare" and "Unfunny Wrath of Khan Parody". It's like Star Trek Insurrection in that it might work as an episode of the show but they stretch it and pad it out to the point of extreme boredom. Or Final Frontier but without the classic cheese like "what does God need with a starship?"

I can see it beat the Billion tick, but I have a precedent that makes me think it'll just fall short, especially since there are other Chinamen and Cultist pleasing films like Jurassic Autism 3 and Frozen 2.

I can see this movie inching past 1 billion. If it hits 1.1 billion then that's a huge win for Disney, and surpassing TLJ numbers would be off-the-charts impressive. A lot of people will see this movie, but expect very steep dropoffs by the week as word of mouth gets out about how shit the movie is. And no one's going to be seeing this more than once besides Moviebob.

So what should I discuss? The Mandalorian+D23 or China+SW+Box Office?
I'd say D23 and the Mandalorian. China and the Box Office Bombs was discussed and can be looked up in the thread itself - unless there's something new going on there.

The Mandalorian could be a decent show settingwise, when we see how the FO forms and how the New Republic works and what they do before TFA, but holy fucking shit, the realisation of this promising setting will undoubtedly be atrocious, inadvertedly piss on the graves of many characters and just disappoint overall with shitty modern day politics crammed into it. I expect there being a plot about how some orange-skinned Alien dude with tiny hands and a bad combover will block an veto the New Republic government, to render them unable to address the issue of a rising FO. It will then turn out that the First Order helped that guy getting into power with a misinformation campaign by First Order General Secretary "P'teen" or something.

But hey, after 7 years and 4 movies, they finally release something that explains just what the hell is going on in their new trilogy which isn't a book series that no one is going to watch.

Not the bomb per se, but rather posting the Box Office gross/numbers for all DW films in China, while posting the countries that actually did offer up more money (FYI it was the US that was the biggest source of money for each DW film, including Solo, with no other country coming close to giving as much money to). It might also be interesting to do the math and break down gross for the DW films and see how little they actually made when taking distributor cuts and foreign tariffs into accounts.

It would be interesting setting-wise and the first leaked trailer was mostly just showing off OT and EU stuff (per Filoni's suggestion, as he did the same with Resistance) along with the Empire and classic aliens, specifically Devaronians, Twi'leks, Jawas and Dewbacks. But none of this is permanent or a sign of improvement. The show info I've posted before already revealed that it will initially start off as OT-based but will eventually move away from familiarity to focus solely on sequel lore and the trashy First Order, with it already being confirmed that TLJ aliens will be recycled for the show. Also of note is that this show was originally the Boba Fett movie project before being converted into a TV series and having Fett completely cut out and replaced with a donut steal. Which just raises the question as to why they didn't just use Boba Fett, but then again it probably has to do with the George royalties things again. And even if normies finally get an explanation about the First Order, it doesn't change their totally lame future and what a fucking worthless chode Snoke is. The future is still the same lame horse shit. At least with the prequels at their worst, you were confident in knowing that their future was an interesting one full of more beloved characters.
But hey, after 7 years and 4 movies, they finally release something that explains just what the hell is going on in their new trilogy which isn't a book series that no one is going to watch.
Technically it is taken from the books due to that Jon Favreau is a supporter of Chuck Wendig (and his books) and will be using them as a basis for the Empire's return as the FO. Even the main character is hinted to be (or be related to) the Mandalorian character Wendig created who acquired what is thought to be Boba Fett's helmet.

Most of the good shit in this show is thanks to Filoni who is technically a semi-recurring director this show, but only directs some episodes due to being too busy with his Clone Wars revival.

Another thing that I was initially and surprisingly happy about is that it looked like IG-88 would be returning as a major character. But then I found out that it wasn't IG-88 at all... Its another fucking DO NOT STEAL character called IG-11 and that the new IG has no connection to IG-88 whatsoever other than being of the same droid models produced on Holowan.

So we have not-Boba, not-IG-88, a not-4-LOM and a do not steal version of the EU character Tyrn Jiton who was a Devaronian bounty hunter who became prominent after everyone thought Boba Fett-died. All these donut steals just seem to further strengthen the fact that Disney really doesn't own these characters, simply having the rights to recycle their physical images.

Anyway, the show has already been greenlit for 2 seasons much like Resistance, with season 1 having 8 episodes on Disney+ and the first one coming out in November 12.

Regardless, China was never the biggest source of money for the Disney Wars films, so it was never really a concern. The biggest sources (according to Box Office Mojo) have always been the US, the UK and a few parts of Europe. Those are the countries you should be concerned with.
Just wanted to add Japan to that list as it's been SW crazy and a huge market for a long time. Probably has to do with the originals partially based on the hidden fortress, but mostly how anime the setting and designs are.

Wow, they they don't even have real IG-88 in the show. So we just get bootleg characters now? Why even call it star wars when everything is a literal permutation of the actual series?

Let me guess, no Dengar either
Yeah, with all the twists and turns they take to avoid anything from the OT and EU, they might as well just have created their own knock-off brand, calling it "Star Conflict", where the good Jidei-Dragoons have to fight the evil Suuthlord Porpocline and his Assault-Soldiers.

So what are the chances that they and shills will run campaigns to get people to see the movie. Prove the neigh sayers wrong, stick it to the racist, sexist incels.

Black Panther was overhyped but it still had a good reception. I’d argue it was in part due to Black Panther’s character arc in Civil War. He was essentially the foil to Iron Man and this built up a lot of natural hype for his own movie. I don’t think they’ll be able to pull that off with IX because not as many Star Wars fans are as excited.

My back exploded from this cringe.

Call me optimistic, but Mandalorian will be caught up in the potentially disastrous launch of Disney+. Something tells me that is going to have a shit launch.
