I hope eventually you can sort of bookmark planets or have a sort of history of all of your planets you jumped to, not necessarily in a way that you can always Teleport to them, but at least in a way that you can make your way back to them when you'd like to, I remember spending hours trying to find a planet I was on that had an avian tomb because I needed a golden ducky for a quest and I ended up stealing one from a grounded's house in a village because I just came across that first. I felt kind of bad in that context that you feel bad as a character in a game since I was playing an Avian and so the Grounded are sort of like your bros if you're an avian.

EDIT: I just realized that a lot of quests that aren't the major scenarios are essentially asking you to steal items for people at the outpost because they want a thing and there's not really another way to get it in the game.
In terms of that, at least you would mostly steal from people that are already dead (prison guards) or from places that would want you dead (Avian temples/tombs filled with Avians that want you dead).

This mod is worth mentioning, I dont know if it still works but if it does essentially you can build your ship out of regular blocks and it makes the engines and the chair placeable blocks and whatnot. The best part is EVERYONE ELSE CAN SEE YOUR SHIP AND THEY DONT NEED A MOD TO DO IT
Upbeat Giraffe allows your ships to be expanded and since this mod can be used for it, it still works perhaps. One can may as well make their dreadnought ship even larger.

Chucklefish is adding planetside teleporters and planet bookmarks either in the next update or an upcoming one.

If they ever do that, that's gonna make things much easier for players that forgot to put down the coordinates and planet names for places that hold their base.

Bumping this thread due to something new: updates. Few days back, I revisited Starbound and the devs put in a few things I can name without looking up the update list. One was a new area to warp to from the Outpost biome (the teleporter that takes you to the outpost). Said new area is tied to the main quest since 1, it involves all the races released and 2, it has something to do with the tentacle monster responsible for removing much of humanity from Earth. Another thing to note is that when you save and quit from say underground near the core of the planet, the game will let you pick up from that area after you reload the save. No more ending up back on your ship. The outpost apprently have a new merchant that sells teleporters which at the lowest price are all at 1000 pixels save from a core which may be at the maximum number of pixels one can obtain.

They managed to do it. It may as well help if you wanted off some planet which you are very deep under and you can't backtrace you steps if you were in a hurry.

If they ask who you are say Vulpine said it was cool. I'll be playing as Robro.

I played it a little bit in beta and still reinstall to play through it sometimes, usually modded. The vanilla game gets boring fast (and a lot of people were apparently disappointed by the final release). I used to use Frackin' Universe, but the research system that was added is AIDs so I stopped.

What was your favourite race? I like the Avians, but I also like the Florans. Novakids seem to be the fan-favourite.

I heard that one of the reasons the devs stopped updating Starbound is because it's full of spaghetti code (since one of the lead devs left mid-way through development). There was also a source-code leak that was really underwhelming.
