Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Corn, mutfruit, and tato. And even so, still not enough. Seriously though, just set up some purifiers and sell bottled water to buy shipments of necessary supplies.
And my friend thought I was crazy filling every square inch of the river in sanctuary with water purifiers

Its just free caps bro

You can also do the same with that tiny puddle at the Starlight Drive-In, funnily enough. You can get one industrial and two regular in there with a bit of work.

and take some grape (?) mentats before selling the bottled water for more caps.

I really want this game to be good, but I'm not getting my hopes up after Fallout 4/76 and Skyrim. Even the story is probably going to be terrible since it's current year.
Tbh I think Fallout 4 was better than vanilla Skyrim, if it's at least Fallout 4 quality then it'll still be a pretty good game.

It's a Bethesda they're all the same. Just wait a year buy it on sale or pirate it. Then mod the shit out of it so it works.

People need to stop making space sims and start making sci fi. What's the point of perfect simulations of spaceships if there's nothing to fucking do in them?

What exactly are people hyped to do in this game that you can't already do in no man's sky and elite dangerous both of which are boring as shit to begin with?

Disagree.
Skyrim had the better story, factions, and quests.
Fallout 4 had its moments. But 30 hours into the game and I realized the game only has three types of quests, and evebtually the fact that the main quest is incredibly short and unsatisfying.

Very worried seeing how boring everything looks in Starfield. No interesting factions, nothing to add atmosphere to the setting. It looks just as boring as Star Citizen. Just incredibly generic sci fi.

Skyrim always falls apart for me at the fucking summit at the very latest, I usually don't even get that far. Seriously you're not gonna stop bullshitting for a week so I can go save the world? Well fuck you let me join the bad guy, you guys are too retarded and tedious to deal with.

In Fallout I just let Preston and those fucks rot in the museum even though I play for Sim Settlements and their main quest really wants me to get them out. Lucky for me though they have given me a nice holotape that lets me skip their main quest so I can just move on to the next one and do a quest line I actually kind of enjoy. I really only hit up Fallout for that anyway and I've only gotten to the part where the Brotherhood even shows up once in like five years because I was fucking around with something about Curie and I needed to get there to get her the Synth body.

Bethesda main stories are never good, they're just really good about doing the little places with side stories that are fun to explore with lots of cool shit to find. There's also some good story mods around but a lot of them are gonna have someone's weird fetish or Oblivion gates sprouting out your asshole or whatever in it.

Oh right, this is the Starfield thread. Uh. Probably gonna be shit, maybe worth if the Sim Settlements guys migrate there. No I will not stop sucking that mod's dick.

because a "proper" space sim would be even more boring, and I'm not talking combat sims. if you don't have space magic instant travel, the vast majority is space trucking from A to B like eve/ED. which can be fun doing it on a second monitor while watching something else, but there's a reason the vast majority isn't tripping over themselves to play those.

I don't think anyone really is hyped for this. Everywhere I go opinions seem lukewarm at best. Nobody wants hard scifi from Bethesda. They should have made something more like Mass Effect, if they were even gonna bother. This will be a boring ass game.

Honestly, I have no idea. My biggest hope is that it's just not boring as fuck, but making it hard sci fi is really making me think it will be.

I was never hyped but I was a lot more excited 5+ years ago. Now I just wish they would have focused on Elder Scrolls VI.

Let's be realistic, name a single space sim/hard scifi game that's not boring as fuck.

Turns out all the fun parts about space exploration are the ones we made up.

Freelancer was fun, but Freelancer had arcade like combat, solar systems were made smaller to be more fun to explore, the factions were modelled on distinct earth nations and cultures, the conflict mirrored a lot of 20th century conflicts, and then it had alien artifacts and a big government conspiracy surrounding the alien artifacts.

So the aesthetic is hard sci fi more than anything else because it would make the game less fun to actually make the gameplay hard sci fi?

People still play Freelancer though.
