Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Very disappointing. The lighting is wonky, faces seem stiff, gunplay is bland, and the story doesn't excite. Starfield appears to be "Settlement Copy And Paste 2." The claims of vast explorable areas is one I'd take with a grain of salt.

2/10 No alien babe boobs.

I think Todd decided to do it after FO4 got annihilated by The Witcher 3 when it came to RPG of the Year awards since Todds games had pretty much won every year they were released. You can watch the awards ceremonies and Todd looks PISSED when Witcher won over Fallout 4. I think that's when he decided to make Starfield.
>> Be Todd Howard
>> Got beaten up by polacks
>> Pissed off, starting to make a new IP
>> CP2077 got bombed
>> WHO’S LAUGHING NOW

Based Todd Howard

doesn't look THAT bad but Bethesda has a track record when it comes to broken games that play more or else the same.

might get this on the cheap. wonder if my old graphics card can even handle it.

Seems like they’re using the FO76 UI
Especially the enemy targeting and the gathering elements

It doesn't look terrible or anything. But I'm just not feeling it. It's boring and safe.

Green-brown-gray environments. Fallout style boom-brass "dramatic" soundtrack. Voice actors sleepwalking through generic sci-fi dialogue. Space marines. Ancient artifacts. Crafting. Base management. Sweaty-looking NPCs that don't blink or emote (but conspicuously racially diverse now, because 2022). Procedurally generated environments. Yawn.

How about some color? How about dialogue with a tone other than "ponderous"? How about an artistic vision of some kind? How about literally ANYTHING that we haven't seen before? I know that Bethesda has been cruising on this same engine and style for nearly two decades now, but for the amount of money they have you'd think they could try and take the smallest risk with this new property.

The one bright spot of the showcase, really shows how badly the delay has shot 2022 for Xbox (although the delay could be used to hopefully tighten up the gunplay and performance). Really get the impression that the game is something Bethesda is passionate about making, very interested in seeing how it all comes together.

Happy to see backgrounds and traits too, even if it all amounts to skill bonuses, speech options, and disposition.

The one things that bethesda always got right, even with Skyrim and Fallout 4, is having a world that feels handcrafted, it's not hard to find something interesting or stumble upon a good quest in these games. The scale they're going for will just spread out the good parts, I'm afraid all these planets are just going to be boring procedurally generated landscapes filled with ubisoft tier open world activities.

Looks like they got rid of gender for character creation.

also lmao @ "over 1000 planets to explore!", this is Bethesda, there'll likely not even be enough unique content to fill 5 planets.
Reminds me of 16 TIMES THE DETAILS in FO76

To be fair, I am sorta looking forward to it and definitely plan on playing it. It'll likely be at least a decent game even if its not a great RPG.
Bethesda game at least is playable when it's not a broken mess
They cannot always rely on autists to make a fix patch after the game release

I thought it looked okay, the gun combat they showed seemed like it was missing some flare. With them using the Creative Engine it's guaranteed to have that Bethesda jank we know and love. Hey, at least it'll be on Game Pass on Day 1.
