How do you think Starfield will turn out?

How the hell is this slop nominated for the Golden Joysticks game of the year?

The only reason I can think of is BGS3 was in early access for years and Phantom Liberty is a DLC so they don't technically qualify as 2023 games.

If they want a real suggestion Lies of P is considerably less shit than Goyfield.

"You can actually roleplay in Oblivion and Morrowind"
They mean roleplay as in, your role will fit your playstyle.
You just play, like a bitch.
lol

Morrowind has a brutal opening portion though and will filter you stone fucking dead if you aren't ready for it. I can 100% see why some people do not enjoy it as much as Skyrim.

Did you even read my post?
Are you selecting longblade or something as a skill then using an axe or something and not being able to hit anything? Every build in Morrowind is viable because they all become extremely OP at the end, you have to actually follow the game's rules instead of just ignoring them. You being told you have to do a specific thing is probably just optimized leveling for bonus levels, but you can just ignore that if you don't care about min-maxxing, you can become OP already without it.

No, I'm not picking skills and not using them. Morrowind is just a fucking slog to play for the first bunch of hours specifically because of their retarded use of dice rolls and other "rules" that should never have been put into video games.

In the case of Oblivion, the leveling system is so fucked up that unless you play in a very specific and ass backwards way you get fucked. If you actively use their classes except for like Spellsword and maybe two others, you get fucked. Oblivion is the bigger example of this "at least you can roleplay!" business being retarded.

While this is true you are kind of gimping yourself if you're not using the incredibly busted magic system to make spells that effectively turn you into God.
Stamina affects hit chance, stop running around and draining your stamina like a retard and you can hit everything properly.
Not being able to run in a videogame is retarded and I'm with the Zoomers on this one. First thing I do is find a mod that increases stamina Regen or give myself infinite stamina potions. Life is too short to fucking walk at a glacial pace through Morrowind.

"You can actually roleplay in Oblivion and Morrowind"

People say this, but every time I try to play a build and it sucks ass, someone points out I need to play a very specific style and build for the game to work (without me modding or using console) so...

Meanwhile, in Skyrim, I can play any way I want in the vanilla game and not have to worry about shit.

So is it really "roleplaying" if the games in question punish me for trying to play a certain way?
Morrowind and Oblivion let you play competently within the archetypes of the RPG trifecta, even if your starting character choices are completely ass-backwards like making a Redguard who only uses spells and never touches a sword. You're just going to have a slow start. If you wanna do something weird or retarded then yeah it'll stop being fun, but the same goes for Skyrim.

What they don't do is let you play to the extremes of any archetype on the highest difficulty without intentionally min-maxing, which is okay in Morrowind but absolutely sucks balls for Oblivion because that game has the annoying tendency to stone wall progression by pit you up against insane damage sponge enemies depending on your character's level.

You're not barred from running if you have zero fatigue.

So after staying away from this thread for a while and getting to play Starfield for a a good amount of time I can safely say that it’s a good game.
Is it my favorite Bethesda game? Not at the moment, no, and it might never be. There are some things about it that are missing the “Bethesda Magic” that made me absolutely LOVE games like Oblivion, Skyrim, New Vegas (Bethesda made most of the assets for Fo3), and Fallout 4.

Its a very fun and enjoyable game, but definitely not a 10/10 game for me like RDR2 was for example. I think they prolly should have limited it to say, 25-50 planets that were more chock full of stuff instead of 1000 planets that are more barren. I get that they wanted to go for the “Space is mostly empty” thing but that prolly wasn’t the smartest move.

I like the game, I don’t love the game. Odd thing to encounter with games these days honestly. You either have to like a game or hate a game and I think that is really dumb. Like there are people that won’t let you criticize the game at all and there are people that shit themselves if you have one good thing to say about it. I just find that to be really stupid.
Like, I know what’s gonna happen with Starfield in the future, it’s popular to shit on it now because it feeds the egos of Sony Ponies and Bethesda haters and gets people clicks, but I know damn well some of the same people who “hate” Starfield now will pretend like they always loved it in a few years. It happened with Cyberpunk and many other games before. I respect people who don’t like thing

I want Starfield to win Game of The Year for two reasons and two reasons:
1. To see the meltdown from Ponies and Bethesda haters because I find that shit very funny.
2. To see Ponies accuse the VGA’s being paid off by Xbox even though they ran damage control for Sony over Last of Us 2 winning literally everything at the VGA’s when that game is still infinitely more reviled than Starfield.

I truly cannot understand why anyone outside of /v/ cares about console war shit.

Anyone who still cares about or, god forbid, actually still fights the Console War in 2023 is a fucktard and deserves to be mocked.

Besides - Nintendo won that thing by just ignoring it and doing Nintendo things instead. Change my mind.
Because it’s funny to laugh at spergs and speds. The salt at last years VGA’s when Elden Ring won GOTY was great.
Cyrus, you still act like you’re on Reddit, you of all people don’t get to call anyone a sped.
