Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

I'm beyond shocked Todd said they plan on supporting Starfield for ten years.

Granted it's Todd Howard so that could be a lie but if not that's an amazing statement. No one likes this game, it has no fanbase, and the modding community is almost non existent outside of texture mods.

If i was in charge of Bethesda I'd put out a statement saying that Starfield didn't quite hit the mark and although small patches for bug fixing will continue the bulk of staff will be reassigned to Elder Scrolls and Fallout related projects.

It's so fucking weird to know that Starfield has the most spoken dialogue out of every fucking Bethesda game, and it's all so meandering and pointless.

Especially with the whole multiverse new game plus concept. You'd think all that dialogue would do something to change each universe besides the intro, but nope, it's for strangers to just ambiently talk about their feelings as you walk past, for some rando on the street to tell you how much they love their pointless job or for people in quests to just ramble on and on without getting to the point.

In every universe, the only thing that changes is Constellation. And it mostly boils down to they're either dead or they're not.

Such a waste.

You're shocked that Todd Howard(talentless hack) made a ridiculous lie and that his fanbase(retards that don't know what an RPG is) trusted him blindly?
First time for a Bugthesda game launch?
And remember, Emil wanted to have a voiced player, like Fallout 4. Imagine how boring that would've been.
I'm more surprised that Emil has been overridden for once. We know how bad the nepotism situation at Bugthesda is, the old boys there can do pretty much anything they want, even at the cost of the games and company itself, as long as Todd approves of it. That means that even that moron realized what a huge mistake Fallout 4's dialogue system was.
Altho like it has been said, changing dialogue to the old written form didn't exactly help the quality of it much, lol. Almost as if you need a PROPER writer instead of some retard who clearly hates RPGs and his own fans to write for your big space game with tens of thousands of written lines of dialogue
Oh, and a design document would help too, lol
You know who could have salvaged this?

Oh wait, Todd is still butthurt about New Vegas, so that would never happen. I guess Bugthesda fanboys are stuck with Emil now, lol!

Do you think when Todd's having dinner with his family, he starts ranting like "I can't believe those cocksuckers at IGN rated my game 7 outta 10! I made Bethesda, I AM BETHESDA!" and his wife's like "Now now, calm down dear. You can play on the computer after you finish your vegetables."

Someday Todd is going to have a realization, that all of BGS previous successes were in spite of his leadership, not because of it. When this happens, what do you think he'll do? I think he's gonna cry himself to sleep, on a mattress made of $100 bills.

This will never happen because Morrowind saved Bethesda, so Todd will always think he saved Bethesda.

It's why he still says it's his favorite game and why he won't allow a remake.

I'd love to see a current remake of Morrowind for the lulz. For zoomie zooms that are too young to remember every npc is hilariously over the top racist to your PC. They tell you you smell you shit and call you the dark elf equivalent of nigger like every two seconds.

Try doing that today.

Well, Avellone isn't entirely critic-proof (Ulysses is by far the worst of his self-inserts), but I agree he's miles better than Emil.
Ulysses at least does have different dialogues depending on the player's alignment in the main game and despite how overwritten it is, it does have depts; it's bloated, don't get me wrong, but unlike emil pastainculo, it isn't stupid by design.
Ulysses and his BEAR BULL BEAR BULL dialogue is unironically better than anything in slopfield
I'd say George Lucas at his worse is still unironically better than goyslopfield.

I'm kind of curious if this expansion is going to fix any of the real issues a lot of people have had with this game. I played through a lot of it when it released, and after I jumped to the first alternate universe, I just ... kinda stopped. The entire game is soulless and didn't feel like a living, breathing universe. Nothing in it makes me want to revisit it right now, and from what I hear, the modders have all but given up on it. I don't often say this, but Starfield was one of the most boring experiences I've ever had with a game.

As someone that actually follows Starfield, I don't think it will.

The best possible outcome I can see is that it's a solid stand alone experience, because they are seemingly focused on creating a single area on a planet, so it sounds like little to no proc gen being used.

But like...a solid stand alone experience shouldn't fix the problems people have with the game.

Or at least it shouldn't. Phantom Liberty seemingly got everyone to love Cyberpunk even though it didn't fix the awful story and empty feeling world of Cyberpunk (for me), so what the fuck do I know about modern gamers?

for some rando on the street to tell you how much they love their pointless job
Or for some random to tell you how much they love getting fucked in the ass by their husband for that delicious DEI money.

The multiverse thing is so gay because like every interesting concept Beth has they don't take it far enough to make it actually compelling. Your biggest variations in universes are all based around the main quest faction. You can skip ahead some steps, they can be dead, they can be alternate versions of you. Interesting ideas.

But wouldn't it be more interesting if the whole galaxy could change? Factions are different. In different places. Hell, maybe you could go to a universe where Terrormorphs basically wiped out all of humanity across the galaxy.

I don't know. With a reset universe button at your fingertips the player freedom should be unprecedented. But nope. You get ten more lines of boring dialogue with a boring ugly NPC.

So you're saying Emil went out of his way to make it stupid? That gives him too much credit.
Nigga, a stupid writer cannot make up even an intelligent idea nor design something to be intelligent to even begin with, but emil is a special person that thinks stupid things better because appeal to more people ( both from the keep it simple stupid speech and the interview regard the fallout tv series).
He's a talentless writer that thinks what he writes (already stupid by itself) has to be further dumbed down just to be sure, and the saddest thing is that he's not even the worst writer i've seen in the past years: zack snyder is still finding jobs and disney hires anyone as long as they aren't straight men.

the nigger companion has a sidequest that involves his dead husband coming back and talking about the daughter they adopted (and presumably molest).

another random sidequest involves an interracial gay couple at a park. though ive seen people argue against this because apparently bethesda didnt bother to make more than two child models (which is why whats his name's daughter is black despite both her parents being white) so that one might be the result of them being lazy faggots.

Emil thinks his writing is sublime; that he writes masterpiece after masterpiece, and why wouldn't he? He's got the bank account and (until recently) the gaming journalist accolades to prove it! Emil thinks that profits = quality. And while F4's story sucked, at least you could turn your brain off (or mod the shit outta it) and enjoy the lootin' and / or shootin', but with SF you can't even do that!

And speaking of both games, not only did they get rid of dismemberment in Starfield, they also got rid of the robots getting damaged. Remember in F4 you'd shoot robots and pieces would break off? I think they got rid of it because they could't get the physics working in 0G, so in true Bugthesda fashion, if something doesn't work, cut it. Hell, they couldn't even get physics working in 1G in F4! Remember how you'd see just random ghoul gibs spinning around for no reason? Or a corpse would get caught in a trash can and it would just start flopping around?

So you're saying the only way to make a game whose main focus is randomly generated content and a bajillion planets to explore "good"....is to focus on one planet and hand-craft content for it, just like in all their other RPGs?
lol, lmao even. If they do that, it will just be admission of defeat, that even at it's core Soyfield is flawed and broken, just like all these youtubers talked about for literal hours on end.
Not to mention that there is a certain other space RPG that already focused on hand-crafted content and has pretty decent DLC(on the same level as New Vegas DLC at it's peaks). Do I even need to spell it out at this point?

How many times will OW completely mog Soyfield at this point? We're past Tim shaking down Todd for his lunch money, at this rate he's gonna be giving him swirlies at the toilet when people will inevitably start comparing Shattered Space to Peril on Gorgon or Murder on Eridanos.

There being no gore at all confuses me so much especially since so much of Starfield is a straight port of FO4 assets.

This means they deliberately went out of their way to remove it, why?
