How do you think Starfield will turn out?

I have the same takes about Starfield that i do with Skyrim and FO4 but the one thing the game does uniquely that I desperately wish for is for a proper Star Wars RPG like not even something convulted KOTOR but like an open ended game where you can play as a force user or a generic clone trooper something with similar leveling like let me become a psychotic Sith Lord go to Geonosis commit genocide and get unfathomably large bounty, every game that comes out these days is divisive but a lot of Star Wars fans have been hoping for something like that for years
Try the SWTOR MMO

There’s this subreddit I didn’t know existed until literally yesterday called r/nosodiumstarfield, i.e. a subreddit that was made specifically to disallow complaining about and shitting on Starfield. The entire userbase worships the game and posts things like this with zero irony.

How do people like this even exist? I get secondhand embarrassment just reading this shit.

you should have seen r/lowsodiumcyberpunk during the trashfire period.

It's 2026 and I think it's time we all collectively admit no one buys Bethesda games because they're fun, interesting or well made, but simply because they're all modding sandboxes.

Show me ONE person playing a Bethesda game without one gorrillion mods that turn them into completely different games. ONE person.

It's GMOD if it was coupled with Half Life 2 instead of being it's own thing.

That's true. FO4 sold less than Skyrim and all because of Skyrim being the best game at modding.

I played Vanilla Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3, FNV, Skyrim and FO4.
Morrowind and Oblivion take a pass.
Starting from FO3 they have problems.

Can GMOD play HL2, Porta or TF2? Genuine question, no sarcasm.

I did convince one person to play New Vegas, they also play fo4 every now and then, they always complain about it, but I think they are exaggerating to not offend me or have had their opinion based upon youtube shorts and tiktok.
Regardless, I find it more revelatory that, when he started to discuss fo4, the first thing he mentioned was modding it.

Post a screenshot of your modded Skyrim game in r/skyrim and you'll find many people who don't mod. It's mostly consolefags and the rest are PC players who are too stupid to read directions. There's also one guy I've seen post there over the years that refuses to play anything but Skyrim without any DLCs. No Hearthfire, Dawnguard, or Dragonborn.

Bethesda sees subreddits like this and thinks this is the majority of the gaming community.

Bethesda also doesn't understand that people who play vanilla+ mod lists are a very small percentage.

Most people mod the game so extensively thst it barely even resembles the original product.

That is not a sign that people enjoy your core game mechanics if literally the first thing you do is remove them.

Pretty sure that was created in response to how awful starfield was at launch.

Well, console peasants exist, so... (Yeah, they have mods now, I know, but it's by no means on par with PC)

I have a friend IRL who played all Bethesda games from Oblivion onwards exclusively on console. When talking with him about it I always forget that the guy doesn't even know what the Script Extender is.

I agree overall, Bethesda games aren't as horrible as people claim nowadays, but the longevity and replayability of their games is due to mods mostly. Morrowind was my first Bethesda game and even tho I played it to death in vanilla as a teenager, I doubt I would come back to it without mods.

if adding fucking star wars of all things is what modders are doing with this dreck then lmao
I have said it before, but Starfield as a setting is SO shitty, boring, bland, uninteresting, and devoid of actually fun sci-fi concepts that simply slapping a Star Wars skin on top and pretending it is a different game entirely is a massive improvement.

Yeah, but the gameplay itself is pretty mediocre, even by Bethesda standards.

New update for Starfield: Free Lanes, "Terran Armada" DLC and the game is also coming to PS5.
I knew that they only way they would add content is if they were releasing the game on PS5. It's the same shit nuObsidian did with Avowed.
Terran Armada seems like a lame DLC where you will kill robots instead of people I guess. Peak Emil slop

I'm already seeing faggots who bitched about Starfield for the better part of 3 years starting to turn around. Just like Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky.

Unless they fundamentally change how the proc gen works or add an unbelievable amount of new POI's and random encounters, I can't believe this will change much to the actual game. Will this make the game marginally more fun? I guess, but the Buggy did that too and it wasn't enough to actually *change* the game.

Even Todd Howard and Tim Lamb have constantly acknowledged this and have said people who didn't like Starfield wouldn't suddenly love it cause of this update.
