While I wish that were true, Bethesda ALWAYS doubles down on bad decisions. They’ve done it since Fallout 4 and only concede when something is universally hated like Fallout 4’s voiced protagonist or the Fallout 76 merch debacle. In Todd and the gang’s mind, Starfield is a masterpiece that was 25 years in the making.

Expect radiant quests galore, procedurally generated dungeons, total butchery of the original TES lore and a story with 16x the plot holes in the next Elder Scrolls.
They wanted to make starfield's protag fully voiced and while I can't remember what the exact reason for why they shifted, it almost assuredly wasn't because they contemplated the FO4 feedback and had a moment of introspection, regardless of the actual reason given. I think the only reason we even know about this is because Elias Toufexis spilled the beans that there was tons of PC VA work done and it was only later that Todd & co offered their non explanation. Could be wrong, I'm sure someone here knows the actual timeline.

bethesda has admitted to doing changes because of overall reception though and to say FO4 didn't have a impact is pretty optimistic, because the character you create does speak to you on the unity thing but it's only a few lines.
and the gun play in TWO2 is actually good
i wouldn't say that, they are both recycled but that's me having played TWO1 and FO4 seeing the similarities on both games, i gotta give TWO2 credit because they don't use the retarded plastic rustling sound because gun handling shit from modern shooters do for some reason, it's not uncommon for me to constantly change weapons but the sound becomes grating after a while.
also TWO2 healing is pretty much like saarfield now instead of a full recover like TWO1, "balancing" i guess since muh toxicity.

Sure but I just don't believe them. Considering the amount of other poorly received elements of previous titles that made their way back in, I'd bet on it being either a technical/time constraint thing or money grubbing thing. Personally, I lean toward the former as we know just how cobbled together the game was.

i refuse to believe bethesda did this piece of shit on purpose, something went really wrong in the dev cycle. if not ohhhh boy
Everyone of value is no longer actually actively working on the games. They're in positions they delegate to lessers and don't look at the product.
That or they're not at Bethesda anymore.
They have people who don't know what Bethesda was in its better days now. Its just people chasing paychecks and third party studios in India.

pretty much, there was outsourced studios that outsourced people in the production of the game.
well, i was going to make a fecal bacteria joke but ehhh, i was afraid i'd be too shitty.

Tried the game recently out of boredom and holy shit I don't think I've ever seen such an infestation of jeets and jeetism in any big studio game I've played yet, and that's saying something. Every other NPC is a jeet. The storyline is based in jeet shit (reincarnation). All the food items that actually heal decently are jeet foods. I feel like I need to wash my hands just playing a few hours.

The beautiful starfield made by todd howard can also run in borderless windows at ultra quality with 36 frames per second in my newest Radeon VII graphics card, without any bitch bastard frame generation, saars.the new terran armada DLC makes the starfield look as beautiful goddess Lakshmi herself, saars.

meanwhile the invasions piling up doesn't seem to be fixed yet, god damn it to-, ops, emil, you fucking hack.

I'm curious why the hate for voiced player dialogue? If anything the choices dialogue menu was the worst because a lot of the time an answer would be something completely different than what you'd expect (the sarcastic line for example)

because its gay, its unnecessary, i dont wanna sound like that faggot, if i was a bipoc how would you feel if i was forced to play as one of my oppressors, and you just know its time and money that could be spent on any other type of more important game related shit

what it's said before, it takes away some of the roleplaying shit.
for voiced player dialogue to be a thing you have to start with it like say, mass effect or two worlds two, if you start with a text-based player dialogue but then migrate to voiced you'll have complaints, dragon age to dragon age 2 had complaints too.
