STARSECTOR - Best $15 you'll ever spend

I started my first game with the Second in Command mod, and after a few hours of playing how I usually do (high-efficiency, high-tech, d-mod avoidance, doctrine reliant on irreplaceable fleet anchors) decided to pause things and try out a Diable Avionics start specced into piracy and d-mod stacking. Then I dropped a Pristine Nanoforge and Soil Nanites not even a couple LY out from Sivie. This will be my new main campaign.

Worth noting TheDragn has reposted his mods crash-code free and has even gone through the trouble of respriting some of the High-Tech Expansion ships so they're not all kitbashes anymore.
Good for him, no one in their right mind is going to trust his ass and it's only a matter of time before he does this shit again. That scalie faggot can rope himself, should've been permanently blacklisted everywhere but we all know the dickswords, community managers, and the players would suck his dick in a heartbeat and excuse his actions. They already have with multiple mod authors and they always will.
I bought and lost the key to this cool little game. Might have to buy it again.
You bought it once right?

I think it still works.

Hell yeah, that's an empire maker right there. I've been meaning to try SiC for a bit but I really much prefer having my character be a "King-of-all-trades" since...I mean it's not that hard to be catastrophically powerful on a bad day so why not have the skills to reflect it.

My colonies are on the other side of the fucking sector (least I can Gate to one of them since there's a Gate in this system) but fuck it this is going to be Pocahontas to my John Smith (or was it John Rolfe?) because I'm in this bitch and I ain't pulling out.

Good luck, Starfarer, that's going to be a pain to maintain. Glad we can now use Gates, at least, just wish we could pass on to our colony fleets how to use them. I wonder if that's going to be a future story beat.

Recently "finished" a run where I tried just having a single powerful combat ship in my fleet, with the rest being logistics ships. Do not recommend, mainly because every Tom, Dick, and Harry pirate/Pather/enemy faction fleet will consider you easy pickings and you end up fighting just about everyone. I'm a decent pilot, but sheer numbers can overwhelm and the strategy doesn't work well when fighting endgame factions like [REDACTED] or modded endgame shit like Lost_Sector's Enigma fleets.

Just slapped an Omega core at the colony (Astral Worlds mod) and let it solve itself, my goal is to create a trail of colonies that can easily get to each other and support each other, like a wall of financial decisions so horrible that it loops back into being profitable. Problem is finding the right planets and maintaining a balance between supply and defense from every other faction because I had the gall to nuke those actual, literal demons from the Fang Society.

Wish you actually got a rep bonus for nuking them. And no I'm not going to be fighting 100's of fleets to make my way to a colony from all of the way too many factions added from way too many mods just to give them hundreds of AI cores to make them not hate me for DOOMing actual demons. Least the Pirates, Luddic Path, IX, and Trinity Worlds love me. Might just dump a few dozen blueprints into the black market for the Pirates and see what happens. Fun fact with the Fang, you can't raise their reputation beyond inhospitable. They'll always raid you, the only diplomacy with the Fang as a whole (you can do minor stuff like with any factions if you reach their outpost, I think some contacts even have unique dialogue) through absolute annihilation.

I actually quiet enjoy nexerelien runs with pirate comissions as just wandering across the galaxy eating trade fleets and being a giant dickhead is quiet fun.

I think my favourite is disrupting food convoys to the point that a relief fleet is sent, eating that then selling the whole lot on the planetary black market.

Plus I dont feel bad for selling blueprints to pirates

All those mods and not running Hiver Swarm? Filthy casual.
(no I'm not owned I'm not owned I say as I spend an hour fighting the 10th consecutive vengeance fleet following another bug satbombing run)

Get yourself some marines, level those fuckers up, raid blueprints when pirates raid a system (if you can) so you can have backup, sell any blueprints you already know on the black market, chaos. Classic.

I remember messing with the balance of the mod to make them less annoying, ultimately I'm not a fan of that mod anyway even if I do like some of the concepts, I like OP and unbalanced mods but only if they're actually fun. I have some other alien mods that fit better and aren't annoying to deal with all the time anyway so eh. That being said, as much as I like man-made horrors beyond comprehension and even the occasional Eldritch beings (I know two Chinese mods that do exactly that), I wish there were more outright intelligent alien mods.

Gonna channel my inner 4chin (/vst/ specifically) real quick
>Install Rapesector
>Capture Hivers
>Execute all males
>Give all females to your marines
>Enslave and shove them in your breed whateverthefuckitscalled
>Or hire them as slave captains
>Sat bomb all Hiver colonies
>Only surviving Hivers are sex slaves
Felt dirty typing this, but the actions themselves are clean. INB4 Islamic Content and coomer accusations.

Is there truly no holy ground defiled by LoversLab?
Lol not even on Loverslab, just someone's Github that I think someone from /vst/ is developing still. Remember one of the big dramas Starsector had a bit ago with crash code and whatnot? This mod right here was a main catalyst. Not even sure the developer knew the shitstorm he started he just updated his mod like business as usual.
There is stuff on there but smut in Starsector is surprisingly rare. I know the creator of Stinger Shipyards was making something but I didn't care much about it, he was a BBWfag and banned me from his dicksword and probably blocked me because I had nig/ger as my pronouns
:story:
. This was after I defended him after he was banned from the Corvus dicksword. I was even going to help him with his character lore but oh well. There's liking smut, then there's being a brainrotted coomer. His mod is great though and I still use it, even if there's coomery I have to either delete or ignore.

Which ricemods are these? 'Eldritch' is the only flavor of alien that seems to fit with Starsector.
Appro-light (I'm using an older version from the Corvus Dicksword so I'll have to see if anything is different with this one before I recommend that one) and especially Foundation of Borken. Their star is quite literally an Eldritch God that they're absorbing the power of slowly. Symbiotic Void Creatures kind of feels Eldritch but isn't.

dont forget the buck breakers

What the FUCK? Looks like a mech from the distance if you consider that bright red part in the back as the head, the forward swept wings as normal wings, and some of the other parts. If I were a talented spriter I'd convert that into a big ass mech because I can't unsee it. Which mod is this? Some kitbash addon for D-ME?

Buck breakers, the ships are supposed to do a 200% to 500% damage to some mod tranny ships
you see the occasional shitpost on /vst/ about it

From here. Sounds hilarious enough to give it a try, and also whatever "lose The Game" means if it meaning anything other than...well losing the game somehow. It also looks like the Mega folder got deleted, either by the guy or someone mass reported it. I also found the post that first showed off that...behemoth you posted.

Its funny because when you examine it, you could relatively easily take the "star" out of starsector. You could make all the solar systems islands and phase ships submarines and it would map pretty 1:1, basically the opposite of what that war of warships update did that one time.
If anything it would be more appropriate: Starsector is a great game, but the moment you think about its "space" setting versus its gameplay it becomes ridiculous.

I hope some autist makes a complete naval overhaul of Starsector one day, or better yet, makes a Starsector-inspired naval combat/trade/exploration sim from scratch.

What am I saying, if I make that wish it will probably end up being a Chinese mod that adapts Kantai Collection or some other naval gacha.
