Stellar Blade / Project Eve Thread - aka Stellar Ass

the entire point of the game were the titties and those chinks fucked that up
The Koreans fucked that up, and the chinks tend to have good money-grubbing sense to not fucked that up for the global market. Home market however have the CCP censors been causing grief for anyone who can't continuingly bribe enough CCP officials to keep the censors off their back.

I'm about to finish the second open area. Done nearly all sidequests besides fishing since fuck that shit. Also got the mystery gauge up to 100%. Anything else I'm missing for the true ending?
No you just need to get lily’s meter to 100%. You will also need to choose to “take adams hand” at the end. That’s all I’m gonna say.

So it's designed to be against the idea of enjoyable combat? I played it and it's a basic hack and slash with dodges and parries, nothing special and not "brilliantly engineered"
I don't know if I agree with that guy's interpretation but the games that get away with this kind of ludonarrative gimmick tend to have fundamentally pretty fun gameplay. MGSV did it in the last act, and Sekiro had more of a (metaphorical and literal) descent with and rise from ass-fucking the player complete with shit-covered rape apes at the inversion point. So it's not an anti-enjoyment policy to play with it in a game's design, and it can't really ever be in successful cases because 90% of players are too fucking stupid to realise that's what a game's doing anyway.

The combat is good. While it is similar to Dark Souls in style, it's way easier in terms of player tankiness and low enemy health which makes it very satisfying. Plus there are a ton of save points and auto saves so the more difficult parts don't necessitate death runs.

The main issue for me is having way too much enemy density in the open world segments and absolutely ridiculous aggro range so exploration is a pain. But the legacy dungeons have good balance of enemy encounters (so far).

I also like the atmosphere, it's nice to have legit cyberpunk looking characters and there is a sad post apocalypse tone especially with the music.

Plot wise it definitely got inspiration from Nier but is different in events, characters and is more classic scifi.

So far I'm really having fun. It's a shame the game is being being fucked over due to retarded culture war shit. There's definitely a lot of passion that elevates the game above coom.

id take the fact that sony is GRANTING FUCKING REFUNDS over the word of a worthless media "journalist". someone fucked up
Honestly the best thing to do would be to refund the digital edition and use the money to get an unpatched physical edition. Play-Asia (I just checked) says "they are expecting more stock." However, it's quite possible if the factories are printing more those will be patched on the disks. (They did this with Maniac Mansion for the NES, back in the day. The second edition removed the ability of certain character to explode the hamster in the microwave.)

Either way, the unpatched disk version is going to be a collector's item.

Game advertised mainly on T&A appeal proceeds to censor said T&A and fails abysmally. Who would've guessed?
>petitioning a game company to uncensor a game that was advertised as being uncensored but was censored anyway is "unhinged"
you can never fucking hate gaming journos enough.
Journalism in all its forms has always been and always will be pure, undiluted cancer. It is the profession of choice for untalented sellouts.

At this point you may as well blame both Snoy and Shit Up because either of the two would have censored the cleavage aspects of the game. Snoy because of their reputation for censoring and Shit Up for their history with Nikke. It takes two to tango bitches.

I hate the trend of copying fromsoft combat. Like I love fromsoft games how they are, but it really doesn’t work outside of what that company makes. They kinda killed the action genre because now every game wants to be a souls-lite. I miss fun hack and slash games.
Agreed, the curse of success. Stellar Blade really looks like it DEMANDS a stylish fast and action paced combat system. Anything that falls into weighty and methodical just seems out of place. Game should have been anime as fuck.
People worship fromsoft for having ridiculous combat difficulty, but most of that difficulty comes from straight-up jank.

You think you're close enough to land a hit based on every other game you've played but you whiff nothing but air.
You go to swing and sometimes your pole-arm goes through columns, other times it gets blocked.
You attempt to dodge and end up with a face full of blood anyway.
You lock on but it doesn't work and your pole-arm goes through the floor instead of into the boss.

By all means if you like it you like it, but let's not pretend it's not jank.
Have you considered gettin gud?
Nier Automata was brilliantly engineered player psychology.
About the time the combat starts to get "stale" is when the narrative starts to reveal you've been manipulated by lies all along.
It's all designed to make you as tired of fighting as the protagonist.
Nier Automata without the insanity of Taro and presentation would be an incredibly mid game. It may be the best playing of his games by far, but all of his games lived and died by his atmosphere and writing. That Stellar Blade ended up being an average game that is alright but can't really stand toe to toe with any of it's inspirations doesn't surprise me in it's slightest. It's still a damn good first attempt for a company that has only done gatcha shit from the looks of it though.

Too bad they had to be faggots, lie and shackle themselves up with Sony.
