Posting to say I finished the game last night after ~40 hours. Great game and the DLCs were fun. Scarlet as a boss is brutal and visually awesome. Now for NG+ runs and maybe a hard mode, although normal mode by itself felt like it was maxing my skill out by the last couple fights.

I definitely played better than on the PS5 thanks to reading more tooltips and using my skills more effectively.

R.I.P. Hugh. Sorry everything is so lame and gay today. We used to be a society.
He's partially responsible for that.

I don't remember BloodRayne having such good graphics.

Why are you offended so much by this game, are you unable to get a girlfriend so this triggers you as virgin with rage?
It's a jealous woman or a gay man, simple as.

If you choose to play NG+, definitely go with hard mode cause otherwise the game will be too easy with your stats carrying over from the last game. It's actually really hard to get the bad ending unless you deliberately avoid a lot of files, so I did a third and final run on normal with my boosted stats. Doing only the story relevant stuff, it only took me about 3 hours.

I'm about halfway done with my initial run on Steam, working on the new boss fight with Mann. Gonna be busy playing Death Stranding 2 for awhile though I'll probably keep switching back and forth between Stellar Blade and that.

Might pick this up this weekend. It was either this or Spider-Man 2 until I was reminded how much of it is filled with utter faggotry.

I didn't even think SM1 was anything to write home about. I stupidly bought the DLC as well and it didn't get any better.

Defiantly not filled with faggotry here. It's still a fun game, Eve being not for the modern audience is a bonus

That's for sure. I checked out the customization and it's pretty generous with that and plus since it'll be PC, there's tons of modding.

I liked Nier Automata, although after completing it I didn't return to it.

Finished the initial run on PC and going into ng+ plus on hard now. Game just got a major update as well. They definitely tweaked at least one of the boss fights and also added a nice feature with the game's devil trigger. Wondering how many runs it takes now to get all of the outfits since they apparently added about 50 more.

2 runs if you save scum the alpha naytiba decision. But about 3 as they're locked behind bosses related to certain decisions at the end. Most of the others are gotten from exploration, side quests, vendors and the boss challenges.

Yeah. I apparently unlocked a unique variant of an old outfit with PSN linking but I dunno where in the game I find it.

I am going to go against the grain here, as this might have been one of the most disappointing new games I'm played recently (since I rarely play new games and knew that Gears of War Reloaded was gonna suck because Ultimate sucked).

First the good, it starts off strong. The first level in the city ruins was great, had a modern Darksiders design. Eve and Raven look really good, which definitely helps

Then the bad. This game obviously had no story until the 11th hour so then they just went "hey let's rip off the Nier games except do it poorly". This affects the characters as well as Lily seems like the only character with a potential arc as Eve has no personality and the other characters like Adam just exist as plot macguffins. The obvious plot twist at the end kind of breaks the games story too quite a bit. Raven was one note herself, but if they do a Stellar Blade 2 I'd rather have them try a new story with the same character designs. Warp it up. Except have us play as Raven as she's hotter.

The fact that there are no humans also feels like a blatant Nier thing. Like in Nier Automata for instance it works, because we have the first one to set it up. Here why should I care about what the robots or mutants are fighting over? I personally didn't. If there was more to Eve then maybe but really I wish they deleted the whole Robot angle. Of course they'd have to de Nier the story but it's a shitty ripoff anyway. Space Marine 2 to me was more engaging and that was just Man versus Monster which would have been fine for this game, just play as a hot chick fighting monsters why not.

The levels also get boring. We get two desert zones with the second being barely anything. So really the opening is cool and the act to the elevator is cool. I also liked the underground portions when the game turned into Dead Space but the meat of the game feels like modern slop.

And finally the obvious Soulslike elements that prop up and throw a wrench into the game. Souls like elements are tricky since often when done it just feels like shittily implemented elements that were done better in something like Diablo or Metroid, and this game does also IMO fuck this up. Then the combat at the end suffers from this. Souls like elements work best in straight up Clones like Code Vein, there is a lot to the design that just adds up to thr whole Dark Souls experience that makes it seem out of place when those elements show up in pieces elsewhere. I feel like this game should have focused on being a spectacle action game or whatever that's called, there is a thread here where this game plays like a very good modern version of Darksiders but in the end we did not get that.

They also fucked up the Nikke minigame too, Shift up, how!??!

I've never played Nikke before. What's wrong with the minigames?

The devs just dropped another free update. Added some new quests. The biggest of which is apparently unlocking a dilapidated version of Shift Up's office with notes from the devs and a new outfit. Hasn't dropped for the PC version yet but I'm currently working on getting all the third run outfits for PS5 anyway.

They needed to play up Eve's fish out of water demeaner more. Her most amusing moments are when she's baffled by basic technology like bookshelves, guitars and soda cans. They don't really explain the andro eidos creation much either. Only really implying that they're birthed as adults. Lily's arc is basically her going into denial over the plot twist and looking down on humans. Still, a way less retarded story about synths than that Alien Earth crap that just finished.

The sequel definitely needs a deeper combat system. Even with the expanded skill trees in NG+, skill points quickly become meaningless. And the game's equivalent to devil trigger is too weak.
