I get it. Staph is just against. Trump came out against the Pope so now she’s Catholic. She has no actual beliefs except “against current thing”
 
Catholic folk religion is a bit different from Roman Catholicism. Its folk beliefs that got syncreticized with Catholicism, like various gods and goddesses that became saints, or associated with Mary, etc. Stuff like burying a statue of of St Anthony to find a lost item. Old superstitions and home remedies that used to be called magic or witchcraft.

Santeria has elements of Catholic folk religion. And some of the more esoteric South American celebrations/traditions that are kind of magic-y and not observed by Catholics elsewhere. Italian Catholic folk magic/witchcraft survived into the 20th Century in the form of home remedies etc.

She might be inspired by Trump hating on the Pope, but there is very little overlap between the folk magic people and regular mainstream Catholics. The stuff she's talking about would be unrecognizable to most American Catholics, unless their grandmas came from rural Poland or Italy or Croatia and passed a bunch of old wifey home remedy type superstitions down.

This is exactly what I wanted though. I predicted her getting into this type of thing and then becoming one of those angel believers, and I still think that's in the cards. She's a basic white lady, she just doesn't know it. Eventually she'll be visited by Gabriel or Michael, and spend her days making AI art of sexy white long-haired angel men.

In the post about getting her mom to add money to her commissary bank account, she referred to her credit card, and then she mentioned it again in another post. If there is anyone on Loki's green earth who should not be allowed to have a credit card, it's Stephanie. Seriously, her dad should take that from her and cut it up. She's going to wreck whatever little credit she has and, more importantly, cause more headaches for her parents.

On the same subject, more of less, I really don't think her dad is going to accommodate her the same way her mom does. She's in for such a shock when her mom is gone. I don't wish anything bad-- at all-- on Mama Frig, but her health simply hasn't been good.

I wouldn't look twice at Jay if I walked by him on the street. Stephanie, though . . .
