I think as long as human beings implore their senses to do more than just their basic functions and apply abstract definitions to what their senses pick up, then philosophy will always have a utility. Even if those definitions are nothing more than just how we linguistically dissect elements within the scope of our limited perception as just a cynical survival mechanism, teaching the ability to understand the underlining "why" properties of that abstract toolset i think is important to avoid people forgetting the importance and utility of seemingly mundane components of the human experience and not just rely on consensuses.
