In the video, Gerald claims Jared didn't have to sign the NDA, he could have just left. I'm sorry, who the fuck asks someone to sign an NDA when they're leaving?! Maybe that's common in the entertainment industry, but wouldn't fly in any of the industries I've worked in. Jared also claimed in his video they tried to retcon his original contract claiming it included a non-compete.

They never address the non-compete. They never address Jared's claim that Crowder wanted to take his personal equipment. They never address the claim the studio got him fired from his next gig.

It does seem like his ex-wife might be trying to pull some shit, sure. But I'm willing to bet she got Jared to go along because he was still suffering the financial blowout from 2018. Lauren Southern put out a video on the divorce story. Half listening to it and trying to leave out irrelevant bits.


Starts out arguing the courts are more biased against the poor than men, implying that’s also the case with divorce courts.

Video seems meant to debunk things so mentions how alimony is rare in Texas but not impossible (news to me), but that child support is awarded after the divorce stuff. Says max amount of income that can be used to calculate child support is $9,200 and with two kids that means 25% which comes to max $2,300 a month child support.

She says Steven got divorce attorneys behind Hillary’s back.

Mentions Hillary worked for free for LWC doing hiring, payroll, billing, et cetera, meanwhile Crowder paid his parents.

States at the start of the case both Steven and Hillary received allowances of $25k from the estate, while Hillary was locked out of all other accounts while Steven was not. Says there are two cases occurring, the divorce case and the civil. This bothered the divorce court judge who ordered Steven pay the divorce attorney. So the civil case is draining Hillary’s funds some amount. Steven has been seen with 6-7 attorneys at once while Hillary could barely afford one for the civil case.

Steven is requiring multiple depositions in various states. Steven has control over much of the estate’s finances while Hillary does not. Steven is suing her, her agent and someone for damages exceeding a million dollars. Crowder tried having the civil case sealed and failed.

I think part of this was - up till that blowup in view in 2015 - Steven was fairly indie, doing well enough to have a mini studio and it was mostly a small crew so it generally felt like a team effort. The best of the show was the last year in Michigan. Even then I think Steven was a bit iffy but he had funny moments.


But then Steven wanted to move away from Michigan, wanted to build up the studio ect. Mug club was it's own issue as well, it was essentially a patreon on his own terms - so many promises that he would meet the workload and then most of the time the "Mug Club" additionals people were paying for was actually Jared standing in or others as the team grew. (I never paid for Mug Club but I remember peeking at the exclusive list and it was a lot of stand-in episodes, nothing wild)


Jared had been the original ride or die for Steven, I think they were once genuinely friends as well as co-workers. But after the move Jared got sidelined more and more for the other dudes more willing to house about. I think I watched one ep before Jared moved on and you could tell the best buds dynamic was largely gone and he was just there.


In any case I think the guys ego got so far ahead of him that he went from "likable asshole" to just "absolute asshole"

My theory is it’s a sort of arrested development. He’s not had to work for someone he really answered to or have employees that could demand a professional atmosphere. So he’s never been forced to mature or treat those underneath them reasonably (what would they do? Go to another internet show?). Guy did insane NDAs so maybe scared people out of talking. He was visiting college campuses for a while so may have slept with college guys without much reach so main one’s knowing what he was up to could have been employees. Similar thing happened with Milo Yiawhatsit a few years back.

I can't say I have anything bad to say about Gerald Morgan though. Yeah, he defends Steven, but seeing as as he's defending his close friend and is the CEO of the company, I don't really blame him. He seems less juvenile than the rest of the crew during the shows, and really seems to take it serious when tough topics and discussions are brought up.

I completely agree with this. I'm normally very dismissive of Catholics but Gerald seems exceptionally genuine and sincere.

I haven't watched the show in a long time. Ever since Dave left, it really hasn't been the same. Bryan Callen is very funny; I liked seeing him and Dave riffing off each other. Pops Crowder is actually funny too.
I'm sure I've said it before, but Steven's skits are self-indulgent and never, ever, ever funny at all, just a huge waste of money. I would always skip straight past them.
