Steven Universe - Now a Griefing Thread

Just don't let them on tumblr and that should take care of about 95% of the fandom issues.

I really like Steven Universe. It's not as intense of my love of Gravity Falls, but there's a pleasantness and a gentleness to SU that makes it feel comforting, like reading picture books under a fuzzy blanket during a snowstorm, drinking hot chocolate and eating peanut-butter crackers. I actually started binge-watching it just to see why the SU fandom was flipping out so hard over the Uncle Grandpa crossover.

Also, Greg reminds me so much of my dad, it gives me the warm-fuzzies when people say they love him.

Amethyst is best Gem.

Greg is one of my faves after We Need To Talk. That's my favorite episode for a variety of reasons not least of which is that Greg's struggle to make Rose understand and listen to him hits me on a personal level.

Decided to give the show a watch for the hell of it since it seems like everywhere I frequent is talking about it.

Saw the first three episodes and found it quite enjoyable. I thought Steven himself was sort of annoying in the first episode, but I ended up liking him. Still can't really make a full judgment on it as a whole yet.

Going to show it to my kids when I get home from work today and if they like it, I'll file it under the same category as I do MLP and Gravity Falls: fun cartoons I watch with my kids on the weekends with fandoms I stay the ever-loving hell away from.

The first half is definitely a slow build. There's a lot of world building and hints to future plot stuff, but it's gets more and more into plot the longer the show goes.

In other news, I found a "momswap" showing the original Gems as the evil ones. Not gonna lie, Evil Garnet is intimidating as fuck.

Personally I like the show, even if I dislike the recent metaphoric shit going on with Garnet and all the consent shit with Stevonnie. Amethyst and Lapis are my favs. I can't wait for the upcoming episodes from yesterday's title leak

Seeing that on the wiki this week is what finally convinced me to ignore the "this is straight up tumblr fetish fuel" thoughts and jump right on into the show. I love me some body horror.

It's one of those fate worse than death kinda things. And the atmosphere when they find it is only pushed further by the music.
