Huge surprise.

Yeah, but most do. Most trans people also put in some kind of effort to begin transitioning to their desired sex, even if they don't plan on going all the way, like taking hormones or even seeing a therapist.

You're not trans, Kayla.

That post she reblogged is one of the most spectacular examples of doublethink i've ever seen on tumblr.

If gender is a social construct, as tumblr maintains, then how on earth can someone not conforming the the societal norms of a culture claim said gender? Or put another way, if society has constructed gender F so as to match your role you cannot claim to be gender B if you are not fullfilling the role society has constructed.

By 'role' i mean how you are perceived by others so dress and apperance as well as more nuanced stuff like choice of name, choice of title etc etc.

The cognitive dissidence is staggering. They don't seem to understand that if gender is something purely defined by society then your gender is just that- defined by those around you accepting or not accepting your behaviour not you picking what ever you think is fashionable on the internet.

I'm trying very hard not to comment directly on what i think of 'gender as a social construct' as that is better left for a deep thoughts thread. I'm just pointing out that this bullshit of 'call me catherine, i wear female clothes, have no dysphoria and look and act like a stereotypical girl but i'm totes a boy' doesn't fly even by there own rules.

As for the whole legal issue of her boss disclosing information i've no idea what the us law is on the subject and whatever it is might be altered by her contract anyway however this is an establishment that has its employees wearing nametags so i dont believe they are overly concerned about their staffs privacy, in fact they include nametags to enable the public to identify specific members of staff. Clarifying that this is the correct number to complain about employee X and that you've not accidentally called the wrong branch is totally legal.

Another route would be: i believe this person X is a pedophile and do not approve of their toxic behaviour outside work, i wish to visit one of your establishments but want to confirm that X works elsewhere.

I realise that this info may be horribly abused by weens but i cannot abide people giving bullshit advice like her friend because its people like me that end up dealing with the mess left when someone takes legal advice from the online equivalent of 'some bloke down the pub'.

There is nothing illegal about asking for info. For stealing it yes but anyone is free to ask.

I don't think there's anything illegal about calling and asking if a certain employee works there. I know debt collectors can't in certain situations, but I'm not sure if that's specific to them. Some places I've worked at in the past had policies where you weren't allowed to answer that question, some didn't mention it at all.

But I mean really. It's all moot since she's providing this information willingly anyway.

Polandkin is of speaking worth of truth.

Oh, wow, sorry to hear that. I got my bipolar something something powerlevel at 17, but I guess that's slightly different because something mania something something hearing voices. After it mostly successful treatment, I started something something powerlevel despite insane amounts of medication something something hospital, & that's where the BPD came in. It bears repeating, it would warm my black heart to see these girls do a stint in the psych ward.

Now that I think about it, I noticed self-dxing bipolar disorder became a thing among adolescent girls about the time I was diagnosed---I wonder why that died out. I guess borderline's the new bipolar.

I feel like I need to make a "bdbpdBOLDYSPICY!" Tumblr now. That'd be hysterical.

those (mental illness)(name) urls are basically reserved for otherkin, so basically you'd have to wait for someone to become factkin of you, then use the bdbpdBOLDSPICY url. whaddya say we become factkin of eachother and you can be bdbpdtsu666 and I'll be bdbpdBOLDSPICY?

it'd be absolutely hilarious to see an otherkin in the psych ward, considering most of them don't even let you use your phone, let alone your computer. "nurse... muh safe space...give me my laptop now or I'll kms with... uh... horsedick." it'd be like watching a methhead off meth. Bipolar stopped being cool when they learned it doesn't really excuse being a manipulative asshole, BPD doesn't either but wikipedia and webmd say some with BPD have manipulative tendencies, thus it's A-OK, apparently.

Fuck, you beat me to it.

She claims she posts racy pictures because they help her feel confident. Why would an asexual person need to feel sexually confident? Why then would a person with that kind of blog who only posts there to feel confident in herself reblog racy content from other people?

You keep using that asexual word, Kayla. Are you sure you understand the definition?

Would anyone else like to line up around this barrel of fish? We have a spare gun.

I leave to get a fishing license and net and this happens good flipping lord.

Asexual is defined as either the absence of sexual attraction or low/absent interest in sexual activities. Generally speaking, if you have sexual attraction to others and/or a desire for sexual activities, you are not asexual. You can be asexual and heteromantic/homoromantic/whatever-romantic because you can still have a desire to be romantic without desiring to become sexually active. But if you suddenly become sexually attracted to someone and/or become interested in participating in sexual activities, you're not asexual imo; you become hetero/homo/poly/whatever the fuck exists these days varying on the gender/sex of whomever you've become sexually attracted to/desire sexual activities with.

I could be missing some super-special-specific technicalities here but that's asexuality as I know it.

EDIT:
This does not mean asexuals can "do whatever they want" because no not really. Some things done will make you not asexual or be perceived as such. Running an NSFW blog where you post suggestive/nude images of yourself...eeeeh, it does seem odd someone claiming to be asexual would do such things, but with this whole "romantic interest =/= sexual interest" thing going on these days I can't say with certainty posting terrible NSFW pictures of yourself makes you not asexual.

I do not disagree that asexuality is normal. Personally I'm the same, but that could be sheerly because I have not found an individual that instills such feelings in me.

I also agree that asexuals are not repulsed by sex. Being an asexual does not mean one despises the act, but just means they have little or no desire in it themselves. Can't say what I feel about "asexuals enjoying erotic work" because that's some deep-thought discussion there involving major technicalities and individual perspectives/opinions. Some would say if you get off on erotic work you're not an asexual while others would disagree and that's a debate not meant to be had here.

EDIT 2:
I'm tired and typing like a moron I am so sorry if I spell like an utter dunce right now.

Yes, this is something I'd really like to know the answer to.

. . .goddammit this thread is keeping me from doing things I need to do but I'm having a lot of fun.

Kayla, time for me to drop a real talk bomb:

Asexuality means THE ABSENCE OF SEXUALITY. If you get aroused by anything in a sexual manner, YOU'RE NOT AN ASEXUAL.

Posting naked pictures of yourself could POSSIBLY be a nonsexual activity, if done for artistic reasons, but given how you were seeking attention with your NSFW pictures, you'd have a very hard time at best trying to convince anyone arousal of others and yourself at having been viewed in that state wasn't your goal.

So far, you've shown sexual attraction to various headmates, fictional characters, and pedophilia.

I repeat, YOU'RE NOT AN ASEXUAL.
