Suggestion and Update Thread

Love the new wallpaper. Makes it far better than the original forum incarnations. Great job, Null!

chat sounds plz

also is there a way in mobile to mark specific forums read?

Last change for tonight:
Because the ticking sound cannot be formally turned off as a preference stored either by cookie or by user setting, I've temporarily removed the chat off the index page. The chat can still be accessed by the Shoutbox link up at the top or by clicking this link.

Tomorrow I'll add a preference to the user settings page to both handle ticking noise + display chat on index page/sidebar. I'll also see about parenting the main style to invert colors for ABL/others that prefer dark styles.

They take up so much space now that the general sub forums are forums.

Yeah, I agree. I tried changing it but the results were less than stellar.

Looks nice on 1920px, but under 1800px it starts to fuck up. I'd need to take a more serious crack at designing responsive CSS to condense these forums.

I can't paste stuff when I'm posting.

It's possible to CTRL+V while posting, but if you hold down CTRL+V it lags the browser for me, and I'm running a relatively powerful PC. There may be some shitty JavaScript at work. You may want to switch from WYSIWYG to bbcode mode (upper right-hand corner).

Low on the to-do list but I'll look into it.

Is there a way to tag/label new threads (ex. the facebook icon tag for facebook updates) in the discussion forums?
It's a very minor gripe, but I liked how you could tell without reading which threads were about updates and which were about general Chris discussions.

I think Fatman is missing from the smilies.

Also is there a way to add [cwc] [/cwc] back to markup?

Yeah, they're called Topic Prefixes now and only exist in the Update forum, but I'll add some more for Discussion.

AUGH YEAH

Good catch.
[cwc]Chaos Emeralds[/cwc]
[cwc=Chaos Emeralds]An article about autistic shit[/cwc]

Edit: Today I'm going to replicate the server locally and instead of fucking with it live I'm going to make a bunch of changes and then upload them all at once.

Wow. Not gonna lie, I like that type of layout.

is there a way to ignore certain subforums? i don't read general/offtopic and don't need feed updates whenever people post there

overall i like the new forum. a little less personality than the old one, but the alerts and the ability to follow favorite posters are handy for sporadic posters like me

I can't get the board to show me my actual time. There doesn't seem to be a DST option so I have to manually fiddle with times in order to get the board to show the right time, but now, -5 hours shows 8:46 and -4 shows 10:46 (it's 9:46).

It should automatically serve DST correctly. There's a reason why there's 3 different timezones for UTC-5: each region has a different TMZ configuration. Make sure you are selecting the one that's in your area. UTC-5 Cuba is not the same as UTC-5 Eastern United States.
