Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
What if we created a bunch of anti-kiwifarms merch and marketed it to trannies at inflated prices? Troons are unlikeable people and will walk around with anti-kiwi merch acting a free advertising. My interest at least goes up whenever trannies start kevetching about how something is transphobic and needs to be canceled.

Is there a way that the the media embed tag can be changed to remove the new "social identifier" tag on shared youtube URLs? I don't want to click that shit.

How about mods be unmasked with their neckbeard sniveling comments on reports. Pussies.

The filled icons looked like shit everywhere except the forum icons where the custom ones are filled SVG's and they stand out compared to the AwesomeFont ones.
CSS:
span.node-icon i:before {
    font-weight: 501 !important;
}
So I whipped this up. Probably hard to implement in XenForo so I'm not gonna suggest doing that because Null will say I'm a fucking retard but if you use userstyles you can paste it in to get a consistent look on the front page.

LOVE the new forum layout. It's much cleaner and I don't have to scroll past a bunch of cows I don't care about to get to the good stuff.
One suggestion that's been bothering me: make a toggle switch to choose between dumping me into wherever I left off leaving a thread, or just taking me into the page I originally clicked. I'm always confused when I end up in the middle of a (seemingly random) page of a thread and then I have to scroll up or down to get to the page numbers. An option to turn this on or off would be awesome

The graying out of the quote/reply buttons on long posts is implemented in a very unintuitive way where people constantly think they have no way of quoting a post. I believe it's because they are static text that people try to instinctively click it, then see that it doesn't work and then have to just do an @ and say that they can't quote a post.

The hover tooltip solves nothing, as people won't know that it's there, they won't hover their mouse over it for long enough to see something pop up and then read it, and if they're using phones then they sure as hell won't see it because touch interfaces don't have a cursor that can hover over an element.

My suggestion is to make those buttons clickable whilst keeping them white, but making them show a full screen XenForo system message where it then explains how it works.

That way it's way more likely that people will read the note, as it blew up as an error becoming the center of attention, and users will naturally keep the mental note that white button = select text to reply. Right now they don't even get the note that this is the case, they click white text, get mad that it doesn't work and do the same spiel of saying it doesn't work with other users having to tell them what the button should tell them in the first place.

That's my two cents about it.

And just to be clear: THIS IS JUST WHAT I'VE NOTICED ABOUT THE FORUM'S USABILITY THAT I WANTED TO MENTION AND I AM IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM TELLING THE OWNER OF THE SITE TO IMPLEMENT THIS CHANGE, I HAVE MERELY EXPRESSED MY OPINION AND HE IS FREE TO COMPLETELY IGNORE IT, AND HE DOES NOT OWE ME AN ANSWER NOR A DIRECT CHANGE TO THE SITE.

I saw someone yesterday, a year+ user, going I CAN'T QUOTE YOUR POST AND...

At this point fuck 'em, it's hidden forum lore.

Make it so we can just straight up set certain sections of the forum to be ignored and not show up in "New Posts", etc. Maybe hidden from view entirely.

I don't care about QnA in any way and the posts in there are virtually all shitposts done by a specific clique of users, they're unfunny and gay. I don't need that crap cluttering up my New Posts feed on par with threads where people actually put time into writing a good OP, etc. Same complaint about yesterdays retarded "halloween event" which led to New Posts being full of shitpost threads from guest users. Damn great concept bro, lets dilute actually interesting threads with people spamming HAHA NIGGER I SUCK COCKS over and over.

This relates to the "alerts" menu.

Is it possible to move the "show all" button to the top of the little menu that appears instead of at the bottom? I like to navigate through "show all" so I don't lose my spot. But with the way the site loads, often the alerts menu loads slower and then expands suddenly, moving the "show all" button which causes me to click a random alert, clearing my unreads.

Any chance that the button could be moved to a spot which does not cause the button to jump?

@Null I know you don't like it when people @ you but can I have your blessing to run the KiwiFarms Secret Santa again this year? I ran it last well and it went well. We handled nearly every present and managed to deal with the dropouts. It was a great time all round and I still have all the set-up and templates and everything from last year. I want to start planning for it if it's good with you, ready for kick off 1st December.

Yes.

People can tag me but I just ask people don't tag me over and over again for trivial stupid bullshit.
Awesome. I'll get to work next week and have things lined up ready to go for the end of the month. I will not tag you for stupid shit and you are right about American cheese. Foul stuff.

A Guide on ratings and Stickers should probably be included into the Help section akin to Smilies. It is rather informative.

Also, both panel titles say "Staff Online" on the Current visiors page.
