Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
how far along is your new forum software?
not very mate. maybe if I could afford to hire devs I could keep progress consistent but I am managing a lot of ongoing things at once. i don't know how you expect me to have consistent fucking progress reports for you when I have 3 concurrent lawsuits, a website to maintain, and a gross troon trying to take it down. maybe if you keep asking for updates i will be able to do more things at once faster.

How hard would it be to do a statistical analysis of a poster, that does a breakdown of how much they post in each subforum and what are their most common threads to post in?

like, either a third party tool that scrapes the post history for a user and plots it on a chart, or maybe has it built in? That tool running all the time would have a big performance hit, so maybe make it like a LOLFAX report that a user can request on somebody which gets generated on a delayed queue, that essentially contains as much publicly available analyzed that's reasonable to get such as posting frequency per topic, primary threads, average posting times, reaction scores, and so on.
maybe make it that when a user gets a LOLFAX the subject of the report gets a notice that the report was requested by the user, and it's published on the subject's user profile and states who requested it and when.

Is it possible to do like a Kiwi unpozzed-facebook data chart showing users their social cliques and interaction metrics? That’d be interesting as a little side gadget to play around with graph theory coding.

That’s kind of like the basic schematic. You’d have to neuter it since you wouldn’t want to keep something useful to the feds.

Inspired by the new feature, I'll just blatantly crosspost my old suggestion re: the Lolcows of History subforum into this thread as well.
I am going to repeat the suggestion of adding some tag diversity. Inactive for cows that have merely withdrawn from the public eye and Deceased for those who withdrew a bit too much, plus possibly Jailed? Having only one tag is kinda counterproductive when everyone is just "inactive".

Inspired by this comment, a ban count for each thread would be interesting. Maybe next to the thread creation date. However, I can see it backfiring if a flock of mongs decide to raid threads to pump up the ban counts.

no. rewarding people who get banned with extra attention is always bad.
Yeah that would just encourage people to turn it into a game by creating a bunch of sock accounts intending to get them banned from certain threads for le epic maymays.

Consider adding a divider between the share and the next highlight button for mobile
My fat fuck fingers aren't dextrous enough to poke it and I think other people have felt the same pain i have but in silence
thank you for the consideration, deer feeder

I think you should get a notification when your post gets highlighted.

Why?

I believe that getting your post highlighted means you’ve (normally) posted something good that resonates with the thread/community.
I was bored and looking at my past content and realized I had a few things highlighted, which I was surprised by and wish I knew about it being highlighted sooner because some threads just moved so fast and I don’t really go back Pages to look at what I posted.
